Brilliant for older kids. Perfect for my nearly-six year old daughter, who loves the more grown up look. To be honest I’d be happy with this for myself!I managed to pick this up on offer, but even at full price this is good value for money given the larger screen and good performance.I wasted plenty of money before this on inferior cheap tablets, which broke easily and had terrible battery life. A false economy.The case offers some protection, but not as much as the case for younger kids. But even if the worst happens, Amazon will replace the tablet, which is worth the extra cost above the standard price for this tablet.A nice feature is the ability to expand memory cheaply with a card. A great feature if you want to download lots of videos in case there’s no or poor internet connection on long journeys.The only downside is the lack of YouTube Kids. Although I believe you can fudge this, if you can be bothered. But Amazon Kids+ is offered free for a year, and quite cheap thereafter. It has loads of videos and apps and more than enough to keep my daughter happy.Amazon Kids+ also offers great parent monitoring and child safety options. Perhaps they’re not perfect all the time, but should be fine for any responsible parent to keep tabs on what’s going on (you’re not relying solely on software to keep your children safe, right?)Overall a great buy, particularly if you can pick it up during one of Amazon’s many offer periods.
