The top is plastic!
Decent tool for someone that doesnt need things to be accurate. The plastic top is flimsy and flexy. Cheap plastic that will warp over time.

Great basic, Avery is pretty much THE drafting brand
Works as it should, strong and durable.Came coated with plastic thin coating to peel off to keep edges sharp. Holes in the top make it easy to hang (my old one didn't).My only qualm is that it is so narrow on the table that my pencil tip often rides up over the edge. It would have been nice to be about 1/16" thicker.

My typical canvas is 16x20 so the size was perfect. The problem
As described. For my application, I paint and wanted it to draw straight lines across a canvas. My typical canvas is 16x20 so the size was perfect. The problem, however, is trying to hold it up against the canvas with one hand and draw with the other. It was way too heavy and would constantly slip. I bought a plastic one, even though shorter, works better for me.

Great for woodworking, but not so good for drafting
Great for woodworking, but not so good for drafting - the lip on the T is a bit too high for working on a table which causes the ruler to slant for about 4 inches. The plastic is tough and the metal ruler is true. Overall a good addition to my workbench.

It is accurate and sturdy! Exactly what I needed.
I needed a T-Square so I could measure and cut wood for my small boxes I sell. When you make small boxes you need accuracy. It is absolutely square. Also, it is not flimsy against the wood. I was afraid the aluminum would move with just three inches on each side against the wood. No, it is solid. And when you slide the T, it is still accurate, not losing the square. The aluminum doesn't sway.

?
I wish the "T" edge was thicker, other then that it is good.
