Excellent screws
Ditto on the square drive. These are the same old Deckmate combo-drive (square or phillips) deck screws HD ussd to have, with a new name. A good quality ribbed #2 Phillips will drive them pretty well, but a #2 square drive will run circles around it. HD actually still sells these, but not in the stores, just online. They do have most sizes in 5# boxes if you want to save a few bucks. Prices are similar to Amazon, but Amazon's shipping is faster. These screws are strong enough to bury the head an inch into a treated pine 4x4, then back it out and re-use it. Heads don't break off like with drywall screws, and the recess is plenty deep to prevent cam-out if you do your part. And unlike the Torx versions, the same size bit will drive all sizes. Glad to see they're available here.
