Elvira's Movie Macabre - Bloody Madness Multi-Feature

Its Elvira, its multiple movies, its got outstanding quality. Go order this. Its a lot of fun if you like the cheesy camp that makes Elvira famous! If you don't like bad movies and a lot of fun commentary, avoid this. However, I love Elvira and she is really at her best in this set

This is a great four DVD set of Elvira's Movie Macabre show. Each of the films are hosted by Elvira (Mistress of the Dark) in a way that only she could do. Her comic lines and skits are great to watch during the breaks. A must have for any Elvira fan!!

She makes all those dull movies entertaining and enjoyable to watch again and gain. I will always buy her movies!

Elvira is great and the movies are fine. I'm giving a low rating because even though the DVD pack of "Elvira's Movie Macabre: Mega Movie Marathon" has subtitles, the rest of the Movie Macabre does not. No captions either. This goes for "Giant Monsters", "Bloody Madness" and "Wild Women" collections. These all look like they're part of the same modern series, the E1 Entertainment series produced in 2011. I don't understand why the Mega Movie Marathon pack has subs but the rest do not. I understand the Shout Factory Double Feature DVDs not having subs as all of those are just a repackaging of Elvira shows that aired in the 80s and subs were probably never made for them back then, but the E1 series is new and the largest dvd pack has them and the rest do not.

This is the last of the DVD packs released of Elvira's reboot of "Movie Macabre" (if you don't the re-release Mega Movie Pack), and, if you ask me, it's one of the best. Not only do we get Elvira in all her robust wit, the movies are--mostly--pretty good as far as low budget cheapies go! This time, Elvira's hosting/lampooning the classic Corman beatnik flick "A Bucket of Blood", Ray Kellogg's masterpiece of canine abuse "The Killer Shrews", infamous worst-of-all-time candidate "Manos, Hands of Fate", and Texas crazy cautionary tale "Don't Look in the Basement". Three of the films are entertaining in their own right, so Elvira's added skits and commentary are icing on the cake. As always, the quality of the movie prints ranges from mediocre to pretty shabby, and, at times, the audio is pretty wonky, but I found this grab bag of films more than sufficient for a lazy night.

In case you were wondering what four movies are in this set. I offer you the following since the other reviews here are completely worthless. Disc 1 is "A Bucket of Blood." The second episode on that disc is the never-before-seen episode titled, "The Killer Shrews." Meanwhile, Disc 2 contains Elvira's take on "Manos: The Hands of Fate," and they finish fans off with this warning: "Don't Look in the Basement." Taken from: [...] Like all of the previous releases in this series, some of which are in this collection, they are the full length episodes of "Movie Macabre" and well entertaining. Quality varies from movie to movie, not one is outstanding but quality is fine across the board. Check out the other collections including the recent Mega Movie Marathon for first time buyers who want more bang for the buck. Or should I have said, "This is a great dvd. You play it on dvd players. Elvira is very talented and funny. Everyone should like her and buy this dvd set with no details about what is on it, but it sure is swell!

Save your $. Even Elvira's cleavage could save these stinkers.

What's not to love? The disks themselves came in perfect condition. The movies? Top notch old horror. Fantastic.
