Grand Canyon: The Complete Guide: Grand Canyon National Park

This is one of the BEST travel books I've used when planning a trip. It's easy to read, has great pictures, and packs a ton of great information into a small book. The maps along with the hiking trail descriptions are great for when it comes to planning a little backcountry camping/hiking. I didn't read much in the South Rim sections, as we are planning a trip to the North Rim, but from the small amount written about the North Rim, it was very informative so I can only imagine the larger written section on the South Rim is equally as great.

Attention ce n est pas le guide du routard ou autre qui vous donne des noms d hotels ou restos ou magasins c est un vrai guide sur le grand canyon plein d informations à la fois historiques géologiques biologiques...bref il vous présente le canyon sous tous ses aspects et vous indique les sentiers de marche avec leur niveau de difficulté et autre...en plus les photos couleurs sont magnifiques....j avais acheté du même auteur celui sur yosemite lors de mon passage sur place et franchement je regrette qu il n y ai pas un guide par parc car ils sont formidables

This is a well-written guide, with plenty of pictures, provided links (text or e-book), & common sense types of info (activities & things to do divided into sections, a chapter on the South Rim and another on the North Rim, a chapter on the river...and on). You can jump to whatever chapter meets your needs at the time to plan your trip a little or learn more (geology, Native Americans, history, and damming the river, etc.).If you need one book to start with - get this one.

Much of the info was in park bulletins and the book was really unnecessary
