Actually Better Than I Expected
I've got a backyard bird feeder on one part of a shepherd's crook, while a reproduction railroad lantern hangs on the other. I was originally going to adapt the lantern using some old solar landscape light parts, then saw these and grabbed a pair. They're pretty sweet. The flame effect is realistic, although a bit slower than a small flame's movement. While plastic, the lantern's finish is "aged" and actually looks better and more vintage-y than the photos! The size is identical to the metal reproductions floating around out there. The only giveaway is the lens, which is frosted to hide the LED bulbs. Looks great at night, but by day the fact that it's not clear sorta gives itself away. And while the on-off dial has a full rotation, it's not a dimmer (nor is it advertised as such). Perhaps that rotation is used for something on a more expensive model? Whatever the case, these things are pretty cool and are just what I'd hoped for.

Great solar lights
These solar light are pretty awesome, I have one on my covered porch and while they never get full light they usually turn on at sunset and last for a ling time unless we have a really cloudy day. The other one is in my yard and it turns on alevery night and it works for several jours. I am very pleased!

Awesome lanterns
These little guys are the best. They put out a tremendous amount of light and theyFlicker like real lanterns. Some solar powered items don't last very long so far. These are holding up great.

The solar batteries last a long time.
Although plastic, they hold up well. This is a second time purchase. Flickering light mimics gas lights very well.

Cannot Change the Batteries
I purchased these as part of my outdoor Christmas decorations. They hang on Shepard's staff holders in my walkway to the front door and give it an old-world charm. They provide a nice subtle flickering light that actually looks real. They are made of plastic, but I expected that these would not be first class lanterns for the price. After fully charging, they lasted about 7-8 hours so starting a little after 5 o'clock once it gets dark, they lasted until a little after midnight whereas, my decorations are lit all night. But that is still ok. Once the season was over, rather than pack them away, I placed them on the windowsill in my shed. Numerous people saw them flickering in the window and thought my shed was on fire. They charged all day and lighted at night every night. Gradually, they started to last less and less and now this Christmas they only last an hour or two and then go out. My biggest complaint is that I cannot replace the battery. There are screws to take it apart, but they are so small and so tight that it's impossible to get them loose. I need to order new lanterns, but I will look for once with replaceable batteries. Other than that, I was reasonably happy with them. No small solar powered lantern is going to last all night so expect that they will go out long before dawn. Hope this helps.
