Almost perfect...
Purchased a couple of these to replace some old Temptrol valves we had in our house. I loved the idea of being able to isolate water from the cartridge directly from the valve as opposed to shutting the water off to your house. They are easy to use and get to as well, love this feature. The finish on this valve is superb. Threads were perfect and the finish inside all of the solder connections as well as where the cartridge is inserted were perfectly polished and made pipe soldering and cartridge installation a walk in the park. There were no burrs or anything on the outside of the valve either, I was very impressed with how smooth and clean everything was. 5 stars on the valve. The only reason I take a star away is because of the plastic mounting bracket. The first valve I received the bracket was cracked and broken in multiple spots that rendered it unusable. The box it came in was undamaged but they do not have any bubble wrap or anything inside of it to protect this part from getting damaged during shipping. It's not a deal breaker but compared to what this bracket is attached to it falls well short. A little more attention to detail with the bracket and this is a perfect product!I have read some people complaining/having problems with the cartridges in these valves and I honestly think it's either a water quality issue or it's just not being installed properly. You do have to be careful with the parts that have an o-ring seal in them and to make sure that they are properly lubricated before installation. We have had no issues whatsoever.Side note - One significant difference I did notice from my early 90's Temptrol valves to this one was the amount of time you have hot water for. I'm assuming this is because of the anti-scalding safety stuff but if someone could clarify that would be great. There is an adjust you can make on the cartridge that increases or decreases the total amount of hot water you can mix in. Even with it set at it's high limit it's still quite a bit different from the valves I replaced. Just some information I thought I'd put out there that I found to be interesting. Overall this is a great replacement and works well!

Easy installation and water stops a huge plus
Installed this in our new shower along with the matching delta diverter body above it. Follow the instructions and things will be fine. The built in water stops were a huge bonus...didn’t appreciate them until I had the plumbing roughed in and leaked tested everything, then realized all I had to do was turn the water stops off and could drain the lines again until the rest of the install was ready vs. having to leave pressurized and multiple times turning the water to the house on and off. Love Delta’s products...have used for many years without issue and continue to use them still

Bad product, requires a lot of tuning and keeps requiring re-adjustment
Bought it and installed last year.Of course, after you install it you won't return this product and start all over again... Though it seems I will have to anyway.1. Initially this mixing valve was set up to produce just slightly warm water. It required some reading, trying and adjustment in order to get sort of warm water (still not to the max). After spending a lot of time to tune it up eventually I decided it was not good but acceptable for a cottage. I just did not want after all that time to remove it for return, and start again with shopping, installation, etc...2. This year, after winter has gone, it did not work initially - in max position water was colder than human body temperature. I had to remove it, adjust again, re-install and it is kind of working now. Water is not warm enough but acceptable. I just sick and tired to continue to adjust it.This is not a good product. I do not recommend it. I do not recommend this brand.Period.

Check with your contractor before purchase
We hired a contractor to remodel our bath. The only thing they asked is to do was to figure out what shower trim were wanted and either buy the parts ourselves, or give him a list and he will get (plus a surcharge). We settled on Delta and got this rough in.The problem we have is that our shower is built against an exterior block wall. Original builder designed it like that and did not build the interior wall with proper clearance. The Moen they used physically fit in the space. Technically, a Delta would fit without stops. I bought this with stops because it's suggested for remodels if you don't have stops elsewhere to the shower. Without stops, we'd have to have the shower trim installed before finishing the wall. This only applies to installation on exterior block walls with standard half inch staves... After finishing the wall, when the stops are opened fully, they protrude past the finished surface and the escutcheon won't fit right. The only option is to either cut the heads of the stop screws, or remove the stops and replace with plugs. The nuts for the stops are 5/16" at 1/4" length. I would have preferred countersunk hex head plugs, but I was unable to find any in 5/16". I ended up at Advance Auto getting a pair of BLF-63C. These still stuck out a little and needed to be filed down a bit.

Missing parts twice
Its a good product which is why I ordered it but the box arrived open and missng the stem assembly (screwdriver stops) so I set up a replacement order and the second box came open and it was also missing the stems. I ended up having to order the stems separately at my own cost.
