Consistently Great Quality
This is 100% (mercerized) 4/medium worsted cotton. It’s intended to have a different texture and is much more durable than conventional cotton yarn without the loss of a nice feel. The feel and look of a higher quality is obvious once you touch a finished piece. Yes, the yarn feels different than standard yarn. It’s supposed to. It’s processed differently for a reason. This particular yarn is perfect for any project that will be used or handled frequently. It is stronger, doesn’t produce heavy lint, doesn’t get fuzzy or pill up, doesn’t split easily, and is more resistant to mildew. It holds its shape better than regular cotton yarn, and withstands many many washes and tumble dries on a medium heat setting. (Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.)I disagree with the reviews that call it “thread” or dk weight. Not true. Yes, there is a dk version of this brand, but it clearly says dk on the front part of the label. The thickness is comparable of an identical piece stitched with standard cotton yarn. The yarn swatches up just as noted on the label:Crochet Gauge (4in x 4in)14 single crochets x 19 rowsusing a G-6 (4 mm) crochet hookKnit Gauge (4in x 4in)20 stitches x 28 rowsusing #6 (4 mm) knitting needlesPhoto 1: My current 24/7 yarn stash is from in-store and Amazon purchases over a several month time span. The overall quality and color of yarn is consistent across the board, regardless of where it was purchased from. This stash is ever changing because of the volume of crocheting I do in my spare time.Photo 2: I use a LOT of this yarn to make simple dishcloths/washcloths for charity fundraisers in our local area. They are a hot commodity because of the durability and how they hold their vibrant color for a long time. Definitely better than any store bought dishcloth/washcloth. Honestly, I can’t make them fast enough. If you’re unsure about Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton yarn or if you’re unfamiliar with mercerized cotton, try a skein. Don’t judge the yarn until you’ve finished the project. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. This is my honest opinion from my personal experience with this product. I purchase all items at the posted price and do not receive any product or incentive for providing a review.

A solid choice for cotton projects
I crocheted with this yarn and found it very easy to work with. Minimal splitting or separating. A nice strong snap with each stitch. Tension is easy to maintain. It really highlights the individual stitches/pattern. I've used nearly a dozen different brands of cotton yarn to crochet with and this one is on the smoother and softer side. In fact, it's so soft that the mason jar cozy I made with it doesn't provide enough grip when I'm holding a full jar of liquid! I would actually use a poorer quality cotton yarn for that to help with the grippy quality. I'd recommend this product for clothes and accessories instead. The mauve color is beautiful and understated, feminine but not girly.

Awesome, durable, soft cotton yarn.
I got this yarn to crochet amigurimis and to make a crochet lei for my daughter's graduation. It has a really nice texture, doesn't split, and has great stitch defintion. I've also made a blanket with this yarn. It's not fuzzy, it's a little more stiff feeling, but it does soften over time, and it does not pill. Highly recommend!

Does not work with a Sentro machine
The yarn works great with knit or crochet needles while working by hand. In the Sentro (and I assume the Addi machine too) it starts binding and getting tight. It does not fair any better in an I-cord machine. The yarn is woven, not spun, and has little to no stretch. I will probable break out the circular knitting needles and make some scarves, I don’t think there is enough give in the yarn for socks. It is good looking yarn and it will probably stand up to regular use/washing.

Good quality tightly wound and thinner yard
This is a good quality yarn, and as the description says it has a nice sheen. I did not read the description well enough and I was looking for a soft, fluffy yarn to make a bunny rabbit tail for a costume. This was wrong for that purpose, but would have been great if I were trying to knit clothing, for example. It is adorable and strong yarn and I’m sure I will use it for other projects.

Nice cotton yarn
I have never purchased cotton yarn before so don’t have anything to compare it to, but it seems really nice. I have had to start over several times (crochet) and the yarn has held up! Very pretty color probably a little lighter than the picture.

Thin and not the quality I hoped for
Before purchasing, I read online to find the “best” affordable cotton yarn out there and this product was the general consensus. I have to admit I was disappointed with this one. I’ve been crocheting for a few years now. I don’t do any elaborate patterns, so the fact that this yarn was difficult for even simple stitches was frustrating. I wanted to opt for a cotton yarn because the natural fibers and breathability are supposedly better for you. I mostly crochet for babies and want them to have the best yarns possible. I’ll probably still end up using it, but it’s such a difficult yarn that I expect it will be at the bottom of my yarn stash for a while. The reviews I read said that it softens the more it’s washed. Just from working it up, I really hope that’s true. This yarn is so rough that it has left my hands dry. The stitches look messy, almost, because of the texture of the yarn itself. I’ve never run into this problem making the same patterns with various yarns before, so I do think it’s the material and not the crocheter. It does seem to be cooler, though. As I crochet it’s not warming my lap much. I live in Arizona, so this is actually a huge benefit for baby blankets. It’s definitely rough and dry and has no stretch. The stretch I don’t mind at all, but the texture really needs improvement if I were to consider gifting a garment made with this to anyone, especially a child. I’m hoping as I finish a project with it that it will improve. If my opinion evolves, I will be sure to update it here.PS this yarn is super thin. While it’s sturdy, the yarn itself is so thin that I’ve had to modify patterns for it. I feel like the product images should have included more scales to properly convey just how much this differs from other yarns.

Durable cotton
The media could not be loaded. I use this cotton for many crochet projects but it works exceptionally well for keychain wristlets & landwards. The cotton is super soft and does not fry or fade with use.
