This is a poorly written text book for A-Level students. It makes the simple unnecessarily complex. It has often gives factual content that is only partially related to the grand narrative.In its defence it does have lots of sources and good exam questions, and for these it is worth buying a copy if you are teaching the course. However I would not advise A-Level pupils or teachers to use it as their main text. Far better is the Access to History book.

Overall Pretty useless, I thought it was going to be an actual textbook not a revision guide. Didn't have half the stuff in. Didn't even use it before my exam because of that.Had nice pictures in though
