Great survival shovel
This shovel is an excellent survival/camping/travel shovel. Yes, there are better shovels on the market, but they are NOT any good for survival/camping/travel. When I go camping, I pack my gear, hike out several miles, then set up my tent. The next day I do it all over again. It is quite hard to pack and hike with a shovel over 6 foot long and that weighs a ton! When I am looking for camping gear, I want gear that is light weight, and serves multiple purposes. This shovel is both. As illustrated in the one picture, the paracord survival kit has many useful items including a fishing kit and a tinder bundle. From my Army days I remember using paracord in parachutes and even experimenting and using paracord for climbing. The shovel has many features. Some of the obvious ones are the shovel, axe, and pickaxe. The shovel head can also be bent to be used as a hoe. As illustrated in one of the pictures, the shovel head has a saw and can be used as an axe. There is also a slot to remove nails and a wrench. The shovel head also has a bottle opener. The axe has a hammer on the back which is great for hammering in tent stakes. On my last camping trip I used the hammer for that exact purpose. The hammer was able to put my tent stakes into earth that was hard packed from a long, hot, dry summer. I also recently used the axe when removing a hedge. I used the axe to help break up all those roots. The axe held up well and maintained its sharpness.Once fully assembled, the shovel is quite long! As illustrated in the picture, the shovel comes up to my upper chest/neck area. It is important to note that I am quite tall (6’7” tall). The shovel can also be assembled and be quite small, as small as an old fashioned entrenching tool. That can be quite handy if you need to dig in enclosed spaces, or quite long for heavy duty digging. I personally wish this product was available during my Army days. It would have been a very useful tool and made my life much easier. This shovel has many more features. It has a compass, a window break, an ice axe attachment, a fire starter, an emergency whistle, and a knife. The knife also has a bottle opener and has an edge that can be used to descale fish ( a nice feature if you use the fishing kit and catch a fish). The shovel handle can be made quite long and used as a walking stick. One of the BEST features of this produce is the guarantee. I have not had any cause to ask for assistance with this product, but did contact customer support on a different product. My question was answered in LESS than 24 hours! The shovel handle is made of some short of heavy duty metal. Thus the shovel is sturdy enough to function well with some heavy duty digging. Despite being metal, the shovel is quite lightweight. As illustrated in one of the pictures, the entire kit comes in a handy travel kit. The kit fits nicely inside a camping backpack. It also has a shoulder strap or straps on the back of the bag to attach to a belt or a bag.I know the price is a little steep, but given all the features AND that it is three tools in one, the price is quite attractive. Again, given the lifetime warranty, there is no risk for the purchaser. The customer service alone makes this product worth the price, in my opinion. I intend to put one of these shovels in my wife’s car and keep one in my car with winter approaching. Winters in the Northern United States can produce large, surprising snow accumulation. Having this shovel to dig a car out in an emergency can be a life saving tool. To me this tool is a “must have.”

This is not your garden shovel, but is is a great hiking/backpacking shovel
When i first got the shovel i was hoping for a little more from it. I wanted the versatility of all the individual tools with the benefit of being light weight for hiking and backbacking. The weakness of the links, the vulnerability of the threads were all frustrating. However while I still acknowledge the drawbacks to the tool it is outstanding for what it is. The metal is softer then I would prefer but that allows it to be light weight for backpacking and hiking. I'd definitely recommend cleaning the threads when it areives and probably after every use but that is also just part of tool maintenance. The shovel is sharp and can cut through dirt and packed snow with ease. The polls can give you more then enough leverage, infact I managed to break the shovel on some heavy packed snow. However a quick email to their support group and I was able to get that replaced. I think for all the expectations I had for it would take away its most important feature, compact transportability. It is extremely versatile and if you are smart the "weak" metal won't be a problem. If the ground is hard break it up with the pick first, that kind of thing. Over all looking back this wasn't what I wanted it to be but it was the tool I needed for backpacking and hiking. The 2 things I added to the kit that seem to really help is a sharpening tool and a pull saw.

Nice size
If you spend a LOT of money at christmas, this would make a great gift for your outdoorsy friends/fam. I havent actually used it yet, but I have taken it all out and played with them. it feels very solid when all together. I like having a normal length shovel, or full length axe. although it feels sturdy, I suck at splitting wood, so I would expect damaging the pipe handle... take your time. I can mess up the toughest handles. the polaske is a GREAT feature! digging rocky ground for firepits toilet pits, or removing ice from under your truck when stuck, are all reasons why I bought it. its JAN right now and am preparing for an ice fishing trip... this will be very handy. I would use this even if the stowed size was double. its about the size of my large binocular case. I keep one under the seat in my truck and sxs's, keeping everything accessable and dry. Normally I would keep shovels axes and a polaske in the back of my truck which gets buried in the snow, rusts in weather, not to mention the sun damaging handles, and/or plastic... almost forgot... THEFT. Before you give up looking for the ice chisel, and all the smalls. look through EVERY tube. its there. latly. every tube has a rubber O ring... keeping your tools tight.

Excellent Product & Excellent Customer Support
I purchased this kit to keep in my 2016 Toyota Tacoma in the event of an emergency. I played around with the kit for awhile after receiving it and I must say that I was impressed with the overall quality of this product. It turned out to be a better quality kit than I expected. I was definitely surprised. I did; however, encounter a minor issue with the kit and decided to reach out to Customer Support. I received a response to my inquiry in less than an hour. Customer Support was professional, courteous and friendly. They helped me to resolve my issue in no time at all. This is an excellent product sold and supported by an excellent seller.

Very impressive!!
So this survival kit did more than I expected. The amount of utility options that I didn’t catch at time of purchase inside the paracord surprised me. Fishing line/hooks/weights/ dry tinder!!! Outstanding!!!! Worth every damn penny. Only thing I haven’t done is test it but hopefully never will have to since it was purchased for emergencies for me on camping trips. Thanks again!!!
