I'm thoroughly impressed with this boat. It said age 14+ on the box, so to begin with I did all the controlling and the boys (6 and 9) watched. However in no time I could tell it was incredibly easy to operate so I handed off to the 9 year old and he does great with it. My 6 year old did ok too, but I would probably recommend age 7 or 8+. This boat has lots of nice features. First the remote. There are 2 speed control settings. The fast speed isn't too bad. I'd say if you're trying to use it in a pool, you'd want the slow speed. We use it in a lake, so the fast speed is no problem at all. You can trim the boat on the remote if it's tracking to the left or right, which is great, but we actually don't find the need to do it much because it's pretty straight right out of the box and doesn't seem to get knocked out of alignment very easily. Sometimes it can pick up some moss if it's close to the surface, but we've always been fortunate that it just kind of falls off when you get it back near the shore. it hasn't wrapped up in the prop yet. Not to worry though, the boat did come with one extra prop in the event of disaster. Battery life is very good. Probably about 20 minutes for each battery. It comes with 2, which is something I appreciate about a couple other DEERC R/C products I've gotten; they really seem to have realistic play time in mind when designing products. There's an audible beep that is very easy to hear so there's no question when it's time to maneuver back to shore. They don't take terribly long to charge either, maybe a couple hours. The self-righting feature is phenomenal. We don't use it much, because the boat really is pretty stable, but when it DOES capsize, the self-righting mechanism automatically does its thing and the boat is back upright within a split second. There must be sensors somewhere that tell it to go. On sensors... NOTE - There is a sensor on the bottom of the boat that must be wet in order for the boat to work. SO if you take it out of the box and put the battery in and try to test when it's dry to make sure it's working, it won't. Just put it in water and it'll pair/work just fine! I'm not sure what more to say. My son loves it, I'll even use it for myself. It's a great toy especially for a lake or small pond. Highly recommend! DEERC made another good one with this.

This boat is really fun to run on a large pond or lake! It runs and turns fast! It does seem to have to be already running in order to turn sharply and not when it is just starting to move. I haven’t tested the self-righting feature, but it hasn’t turned over yet, which I believe is by design. Be sure to keep it away from any kind of shore with plants/weeds at the shoreline. The remote has a trim dial, which can be turned left or right to keep the boat moving in a straight line. There is also a button on the remote that controls LED lights (really cool at night!) and also allows for a figure 8 demo. There is also a speed control dial on the remote. The boat will not turn on until placed in the water and there are slightly exposed screws on the bottom of the boat, which probably completes the electrical circuit to turn the boat on when placed in water. The instructions will provide more details. The silicone bow protector (glad it’s included) is white and might be easily overlooked in the white styrofoam packaging, although the packaging is done very well, keeping all parts safe. The stand is nice and protects the rudder/propeller area, instead of the boat laying directly on a surface when not in use. A screwdriver, extra propeller and a few other small parts are also included, in case they are needed. The only thing that could be better is to include two chargers; one for each boat battery pack (the remote uses 3 AA batteries that aren’t included; the boat uses one battery pack - 2 are included). Customer Service has been patient and excellent! This is our second boat, as the first boat didn’t seem to turn properly (wouldn’t make sharp turns) when the instructions were followed. The company sent a replacement rudder motor, but that didn’t work. Then, they sent a full replacement and the new boat turns properly. Keep in mind that the company may take overnight to respond, due to an apparent time difference. But they will respond and will go out of their way to resolve any issues to the best of their ability!

Fantastic! Nice speed, good controller (except the terrible beeping that starts when the battery is running low), good battery time on each battery. All and all good. - There’s a few drops of water inside the boat after each run. Even when everything is sealed shut tight. Eventually this will ruin the boats electronics.

My 10 YO son had five outings with it before it broke. The hull leaks water into the battery and motor. Was good while it lasted, he did have fun with it, but €80 for one week is a bit steep.

Super produit, les pièces importantes sont en métal, il y a une hélice et son écrou de rechange. Il y a toutes les pièces essentielles en pièces détachée au cas où. L'autonomie est de 18 minutes par batterie ( 2 de fournies) en vitesse maxi! Il est très rapide, très maniable, un vrai régal. Les 2 leds rouges à l'arrière et 2 bleus sur le côté donnent un look sympa. Très facile à piloter même à 6 ans et amusant aussi pour les adultes!
