BXA #1 XL Quick Change Tool Holder 250-201XL ZiN Coated

Fit my Shars BXA post perfectly. Will probably buy another one. Good quality and a few bucks cheaper than others.

These are nice and fit good but for the serious machinist (me 45years of it) who needs total rigidity you have to spend the $ and go with the Aloris USA made...There is a difference besides the high cost of US made and low cost of cheap labor and mass production which makes this lower price possible for these..Take a sharp file and try to file a Aloris tool holder and you cannot because the hardness and temper is way above what you get with the Chinese made products (soft)..This temper which takes no how and time is the reason why we get a good finish on hard alloys..Trust me you do get what you pay for here...For soft metals I guess use the china stuff though.

The media could not be loaded.  These are surprisingly good tool holders. Each one is oiled, bagged and packed in a small box. Decently hardened (45-50 rc). Holes are chamfered. Most edges are beveled, all are deburred. Machined and surface ground on all sides. Surface finish is 16-20 ra. Hardware seems of good quality. It has a 8mm setscrew for clamping the tool and a 10mm thread for height adjustment.It would only be better with more surface hardening, a tumbling (to soften the edges a bit), tighter surface finish, and larger diameter hardware. All but one of my tool holders has the Colton branding laser engraved on it, but this does not affect the quality or the fit.It's no Aloris, but it's great quality for the money.

Looks nice with the engraving and shiny hardware. I will still replace the hardware for the usual reasons (someday.) fits dorian like a glove. So 4.5 stars.
