Universal Knife Block - Porcelain Holder w/ Magnetic Bristles - Without Knives, Square, Orange - by Sweese

This is one of my new favorite things. I bought the orange, which fits right in with my brown/beige kitchen. It's a very pretty color. I have miscellaneous knives and needed a place to store them. This is great. It seems like it's hard to knock over, so I'm not worried about breaking it. Keeps the knife blades from touching each other. The black bits are all connected at the bottom so if they fall out, they will all fall out together, which I thought was a nice product feature...and also made it easier to get the styrofoam bits off the top after I took it out of the box. This item is nice quality and has a nice look. Also a cheaper alternative to drawer storage and other options I saw. This is the right price for this item. Definitely glad I purchased.

I don't know if I didn't read the reviews or its just me.Okay so first packaging is pure sh**.It comes in a blue box with styrofoam and the styrofoam has made its way into the black knife mesh holder thing. ( come back to this )So looks wise this thing is perfect looks great doesn't look cheap and has clean lines.Now function.... So not sure why I don't see this if the knife isn't 8 inches or longer it may fall into the mesh and just look stupid. If you have a cluster of knives it compresses the mesh and keeps the smaller knives a float.Now with that styrofoam junk, it was all over the mesh so I figure hey let me hand wash this thing. Little did I know since no instructions come with it , it would retain water like crazy. It's been 5 days and it's still holding water , I leave it in the sun.I wish I could return this but in the joy of the product looking so good I threw it away. My $28 mistake cause no good knife should go into a water butchers block.

This is so heavy and solid that it actually feels like a piece ofle Creuset cookware! I purchased this in orange, which is such a bright happy colour in my kitchen. Also, having a small kitchen like mine, with limited counter area, you'll appreciate this knife block using less space than the standard slanted/slotted blocks. Overall, a real winner!
