Great product
Love this product! I am in the process of painting some of my wood kitchen cabinets. I read that this would clean the built up grease and prep before painting. It did exactly what I needed! Easy to use. Very pleased and will definitely buy again.

worked well with bonding primer and applying with scrubbing pad
I have old kitchen cabinets that were painted with an oil based paint, semi-gloss. I wanted to paint over them with a latex paint (satin). So I was told that I need to sand the cabinets before priming them with a bonding primer. I was trying to avoid the time consuming sanding process and hoping if a I used a deglosser or really good bonding primer, it would stick. Then I could apply my top coats. So I bought the Behr bonding primer, which is pretty expensive. First I tried a small section with just bonding primer and no prep work. It says that you can prime over glossy surfaces with no sanding. The bonding primer did not stick at all. I then sanded a section with 220 grit sand paper and the bonding primer stuck well.I then tried the gloss off with no sanding. I applied with a rag and let it dry. The bonding primer stuck a little better than no sanding but not great. You could scratch off some areas pretty easy.I then tried using the gloss off on another section and this time I applied with a scotch brite scrubbing pad. So I was scrubbing as I applied the gloss off. I then applied the bonding primer and it stuck just like it did when I sanded! So the product worked for me if I used a scrubbing pad to apply it and using a high quality bonding primer. I think if if you used this product alone and used a scrubbing pad but just used a general purpose primer, it may not work but I have not tried that.

Great Product
This product works. It really strips off dirt and gloss on multiple surfaces reducing or eliminating the need to sand. I am very happy I discovered it :)

Not much deglossing!
I picked this product to prep my 90’s style oak cabinets . The description says it will degloss for painting without sanding. It did NOT do that for me. Maybe it’s because my cabinets were super 90s glossy and it was too big a job, I don’t know. But there wasn’t a noticeable difference in the gloss. I ended up sanding mine. It did work to degrease, but I would recommend getting a spray bottle rather than using it on a cloth. I feel like that might’ve been easier to work with.

Helped paint adhere
I had an old iron wall hanging piece that came from my parents' travels in Mexico. It has leaves, birds, and three-dimensional flowers shaped sort of like tulips, designed for candles. I had a difficult time removing the old melted wax, and bought this product to remove all traces so that I could repaint and refresh the look of this piece. I will be using it outdoors and only use battery-operated tea lights; no more wax! I sprayed the piece with Rustoleum hammered brown, a dark, rich metallic paint, and it came out great!

Great Cleaner, But Didn’t Remove Gloss
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted this to work, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the “gloss-off” name. It worked well as a general cleaner, but didn’t remove the gloss finish at all. You can literally see me in the video double-checking the bottle to make sure I wasn’t missing a step. I ended up giving up and grabbing a couple bottles of acetone from Dollar Tree instead. Might be fine for light prep, but not if you actually need to degloss.
