Has anyone retrofitted this g3.0 engine on the original hpi nitro mt1? if so, did that work out of the box or required any mods?

Need to get the correct engine since there are two available. The main difference is in the carburetor operation. It should mount directly to the original motor mounts for the MT. The clutch and flywheel are not included. If your cat doesn’t already have the g3.0 you will need a new flywheel and clutch assembly for it. Go to hpi website and look up the bullet, firestorm, mt2 g3.0 for the parts you will need and the original mt. A lot of the parts are still available then crocs reference what you need with this site and or other websites

Does this fit the hpi savage 25

It should but it will be a smaller engine than the .25 big block if that’s what you are referring to for your savage

Will this work on a exceedrc hyper speed nitro with original spur gear set up?

It should. The carb action is the same operation, the only thing i would suggest is to ensure the proper clutch and flywheel assembly is used with the engine. Go look up an hpi firestorm on there website for the parts you need.
