Took some time to set up but still going strong, nice quality & design.

After using Epson printers and thought the cartridges costs where getting very high until that new printer I saw originally saw the HP advert in 2018, and purchased my first HP Instant Ink back then. That lasted 5.5 years and with the ink included, they send it you when you run out! No brainer, at £38 for the new printer as well it is a great deal. The printer itself is so easy to set up, download the app from 123.hp.com and away you go, easy as that. It self connects to to the wifi and my MAC. Simple all in one printer / scanner / copier. It's relatively easy to set up, although I found the HP Smart computer app quite slow to the point it seemed like it had stopped working a couple of time, but eventually sorted it's life out after a few minutes of being patient. The rear paper feeder makes it take up more space than if the paper tray was at the bottom like some other printers, but it is fine for my needs. Print quality and scan quality are good for the price. You could get better by paying more for a fancier printer, but I've used it to scan some important documents and everything is legible. Worth noting there's no feed for the scanner so you have to manually add each page, but you can add each one to the same scan so they all end up in one document rather than a separate document per page. Printing speed is slow-average. I'm used to a big beasty printer at work that chucks out a page every couple of seconds. I printed a 27 page document yesterday on greyscale 'draft' quality and it still took about 10 minutes. In summary, this is a great printer for low use home needs or perhaps occasional business use for basic documents. If you're doing a lot of printing or scanning, the slow speed is likely to get frustrating and you'd be better investing a little more in one with a scanner feed tray.

I'm no printer fanatic but it does the job and does it well. Summary points: Ink that comes with it lasts 72 pages (I did some in colour, some not). Bit loud but prints swiftly. I've used the scanner manually and printed downloaded pdf documents from my phone, and two words: very easy. Allows you to make sizing readjustments and other alterations though the phone as well. Connecting to Wi-Fi and device was the only speed-up I hit when setting it up and was resolved in no time Getting it up and running: Initially I was having a struggle setting it up? Im no stranger to I.T. but went to various different videos after the manual tested my imagination for what buttons they were referring to 0_0 After some trial and error, I pieced the info together to figure it all out (biggest and only issue really was connecting it). Worry not though, after some thought, I got it up and working and it's been a breeze to use since (though just know I haven't had it for long). Word to the wise - Why I struggled to get it sorted: My fault in installing it was not searching for said printer to connect to on my phone, RIGHT after it pressed the 2 buttons *for abt 3sec - its all in the instruction vids on YouTube*. If the waiting period is too long it may not pick up on it. :) Final remarks: Too early to gather whether it will stand the test of time or not and it's a pity it doesn't print double sidded, however the ease of use when set up, timing and general functionality is the proof in the pudding. So far it's been great value for money and if you need an affordable printer in a pinch, this one is looking pretty good! :)
