It gets the job done!
It gets the job done. I have a bit of trouble holding in the safety button and squeezing the handle at the same time. Not great for arthritic hands.Once you get it going, it sometimes tries to veer off in a different direction when you are going forward, I have better luck dragged the unit backwards to get straight lines.

This cultivator is the BEST!!!
I was a little sceptical at first but, since I own a SunJoe blower I thought I was in pretty safe hands. I have 6 raised garden beds and they were compacted. I used my shovel to dig them and wore myself out on the first one! I am pretty active but this 73 year old with a shoulder replacement just couldn't do it! I cultivated all 6 beds and they look wonderful.... all fluffy and ready to receive my plants! The machine really dug down with little effort and when encountered roots/stones it stopped. I would highly recommend this cultivator to all those women out there...

This little tiller is great and saved my back and hands
This little tiller has a lot more power than I expected. I had some over-grown shrubs in front of my house removed this past summer. They had been growing there about 30 years so I felt sure the soil needed to be revived before planting new shrubs. I'm an old woman in my 60's and knew I had to get something to help me turn that old soil over and mix in all the fertilizer and peat moss. I just wanted something cheap to do this one job and be done with it. This little Sun Joe tiller turned out to be just the thing. It not only got the job done easily enough but also turned out to be so much fun to use that I actually used it to make a new flower bed in my back yard that I filled with beautiful Mums. I really recommend this little Aardvark tiller. It's light weight, easy to handle, and fun to use. Note: The soil bed I was tilling was full of rocks which kept getting stuck in the blades since they are small and close together. This stops the tiller from running so you just have to knock them out and turn it back on, but I had all day.

very nice and well build residential tiller
This rototiller is for residential non commercial use for turning over garden soil and light clay. Roots and ivy strings will tangle up the blades, requiring you to stop and manually remove them. Works fine even on dry hard dirt, working slowly to a depth of 6 inches. The only downside I found is a stiff safety button on the handle's left side which must be depressed, to squeeze the handle on switch. If you don't press it and hold it in, the unit will stop (for safety). Being left handed, that doesn't work well for me since it is on the 'palm' side of my hand. The safety switch should be much easier to push in but still acting as a safety feature. Presently it is more of a hindrance. The unit is well made. Being electric, you don't need 2 cycle gasoline for an engine.

Great for small or tight area gardening
Kind of like using a weed eater except that you're working the soil. It's about the same size as a weed eater. If you happen to snag a root or rock, it will stop until you dislodge it. I find it to be a very handy garden gadget.

You don't need gas just electricity.
It was something a little wrong with the neck and its adjustments. But the running of the machine and its ability to work was outstanding.

It is a good buy.
The Ardvark is a bit heavy to be easily steered between plant rows. It would be better if the blades were sharpened. They collect the vegetation around the cutting head and stops the tilling. I sharpened the blades. That allowed it to chop the weeds instead of pulling them.

small areas only
like the design.

Buy and toss it in the garbage
No need to take it out of the box. Just toss it. Used it once in the fall of 2019. This spring all it does is growl. Amazon closed the warranty window after a month. Called Sun Joe and got a recorded message saying they were "off recharging their batteries". The whole company apparently. Left messages that were never returned. So much for their 2 year warranty. Took the tiller apart and as expect with "made in China" it was full of cheap nylon gears that stripped the first time stress was applied. Jam the tiller with a twig or hit a stone and the main drive gear strips. Paid a lot of money for this, but garbage at any price is still garbage.

Garbage
I would give this zero stars if I could. I agree with the reviewer who said not to bother taking it out of the box, just throw it in the garbage. I used it for maybe half an hour the first time to till a small flower bed. The next time I went to use it the tines wouldn't turn, it was like the gears were stripped. It was replaced on warranty with another one that did the same thing. That one was replaced, and the third one is still in the box to be used once Spring comes. I have no doubt I will be using it once and throwing it in the garbage.

Good lil machine
Works perfect for my little garden along my house. It won't work if there's a rock stuck in it, and can't press down on it to dig through the dirt. U just sit it on the dirt and let it go dig down by itself.

Great little machine
Great little machine, use it in the flower bead and in the raised bed garden. This is perfect for me as I have a fused spine and shovelling or twisting around leaves me in pain. Would especially recommend this for women and older generations.

No good
The worst! The soil needs to already be cultivated for this to work. I’m petty sure I’d get more accomplished using my bare hands!! Terrible.
