Light weight but serviceable rescue throw bag
I bought this as a replacement for a professional throw bag. This is not. It is suitable for my purposes - living near the water, I travel with a bag in the event I have to provide assistance to neighbors and friends. I occasionally boat with friends and the bag will be part of my kit. This bag is too light to be thrown into a strong wind. I will add some weight inside the bag with the foam pieces at the bottom.. The line is light, floats - which are both forgivable sins. The bag opening is just barely big enough to allow me - I've got big hands - to stuff the line into the bag. It isn't something I want to do regularly - which will make training and practice an infrequent event.A serviceable devise, we'll see how long it lasts with light service.

good price But
Bag has a great price and easy to use. But the storage strap is not protected from UV rays the white storage strap has rotted from the sun. Luckily when the strap broke it didn't fall overboard. You can tear the strap with your hand. It will cost more to have repaired than to just buy another. I'll probably look at other brands or I'll be replacing this every year. If you keep it out of the sun you may be okay. But you want it to be ready to use. In a cabin or drawer may take too long to get to in a emergency .

Poor sun resistance
It's a rope in a bag, that should be useful in an emergency. But what if it's not where you put it because the nylon strap had rotted away and it had fallen overboard? I used the attached nylon/velcro strap to attach to my stern rail, and when I was showing the safety features to our guests it was gone! Not stolen but fallen off the stern rail because of deterioration in the sun. This was 60 days in the Virginia summer sun. Surely it should last more than two months? The bag itself and the rope are fine, and I'll sew a cord on it to make it work, but it might as easily wound up in the drink and had a 2 month lifetime.

Good Enough for Clam Outdoors, Good Enough for Me
My husband was gifted a Clam Outdoors rescue rope many years ago at one of their events. I have started ice fishing with him and I needed my own rescue rope for obvious safety reasons. He found this one on Amazon which is the same company that makes Clam’s and was over $10 lower in price. Both are identical. The wording is the same and you can see the only difference is Clam has their logo put on the bag.

Good for Training and Scouting
I have these for training Boy Scouts water rescue skills as well as using them when we go out canoeing or white water rafting. They work as advertised and as long as you remember to let them dry out before storing them; they will last a long time if properly taken care of. One Caveat about these as well as any throw bag, if you are using them in a clorinated environment (i.e. a pool) for training, put them in a dry bag WET then rinse them off once you get back home and hang them out to dry. I forgot to do that to one of mine and the clorine ate through the canvas bag and rope within 1 summer of training sessions (3 a day 5 days a week) granted, more use than standard, but information you may want to consider if you are going to use this for any type of training, or if you are a lifeguard and want to keep this in your jump bag or straped on your waist pack for a quick throw item. These are very light weight and on a Sunny day, they can dry out in about 30-45 minutes. Overall, I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quick introduction to throwbags. I would also recommend these to any and all Scoutmasters or troops for both training purposes of both 2nd class and 1st class rank requirements as well as any water activities.I will definately be purchasing more of these for both myself and for my Troop!
