Faber & Faber The Rusty Pianist

I’m too rusty!
I was too rusty for this book. About 45 years ago I was good enough to pass a pianoproficiency at THE University of Alabama. When you loose it I guess it’s gone.

Great book of lovely pieces!
This is a great selection of pieces in styles I have not tried before - traditional tune arrangements, some bluesy and jazzy styles, all quite easy to learn if you are returning to playing after a lay off. Lots of little tips to remind you of music theory and expression, I enjoyed them so much I've now bought a second book by Pam Wedgewood. There's a very useful function to hear the tunes online, which helps you play them correctly. Recommended.

Latest Book
I stopped playing the piano in my much younger years, and I always regretted having done so. One day looking in a music shop I came across "It's never too late ... to play piano" by Pam Wedgwood. That was the beginning of a new and very pleasurable journey. I have many of Pam's books and Rusty Reminders is her latest, and became a "must have" for me. It is full of many different styles of pieces, and includes a pull-out insert with tips and reminders for the "rusty" pianist. Each piece also has a demonstration track available to download. I highly recommend this book and hope you will get as much enjoyment out of it as I am having. Happy playing!

Brilliant book
This is another exceptional book by the wonderful Pam Wedgwood. The pieces are so evocative in their individual styles, easy to achieve and a perfect selection for winding down or entertaining your friends and family. From a teacher’s point of view, my pupils have loved this book as an extension to their usual work. The differing moods entice and encourage practise….always a good thing!Seriously, get yourself a copy and look out for the next volume which I’m sure can’t be too far behind.
