Looks better than I expected.
Looks good, sturdier than I expected. I found a broken piece of plastic in the box but I see no missing parts or broken pieces.I have no idea from where the plastic came from.

Nice seat
It made a good Christmas to give to my daughter to help clean her pellet stove. She loves it!

Came together w/ no problem in about a minute, but CASTERS ARE CLANKY & LOUD
This is the third mechanic stool I’ve bought altogether, all different brands.First one was from Harbor Freight (Pittsburgh brand, their house brand), just under $20, and still in use after many years, though the ball bearings might be louder now, but that’s normal. The casters roll smoothly & quietly, otherwise.Second one I bought was WEN brand—just got it a couple months back for around $40. It’s a best-seller, not only here on Amazon, but is also available on other online sites, as well as at brick & mortar stores like Home Depot. The materials are sturdy, BUT the stem/pole doesn’t seat into the base completely, so there’s no secure attachment, unless you alter the piece to fit, which some customers have had to do, because you can pull the stem out easily (ANYTIME!), which means you can also fall off of the stool, if you’re really heavy or lean over too much. It’s a mechanical defect, and one that many customers have complained about. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re handy and can fix the problem yourself. And now we arrive at this Aain mechanic stool. This brand costs more, but uses cheaper parts. The casters are LOUD & AWFUL! The noise of them rolling on hard floors will FILL the room, the sound echoing off all of the hard surfaces. The WEN stool (and even my old Harbor Freight stool) roll quietly, not only in comparison to this Aain one. They FEEL cheap, too (not too knowledgeable about materials, but I think they use aluminum housing, whereas the other two I bought use stainless steel). And I should add that pandering to the patriotic types by including a “free w/ purchase” doo-rag w/ an American flag motif isn’t going to work on ME—I’d rather just have a quality product that’s worth its higher cost. 👎I’d say the seat,, seat stem, and tool tray are fine—pretty standard. The seat material is cheaper than the one used by WEN brand—another shortcut this company takes to save money on their end, while still charging customers more. The highest compliment I can give this stool is that the assembly was quick & hassle-free (esp. after realizing that the WEN brand stool was defective, and not an inadequacy in my ability to assemble furniture). So, would I recommend this? Well…probably not enthusiastically, but I guess it does the job. There’s a lack of integrity on their part by using cheaper parts, yet this being a more costly product than their competitors, so I leave the decision to you. Personally, the casters would be a TOTAL dealbreaker for me 💯—I’d look for another brand that uses better parts. If you have the opportunity, ask others who have mechanic stools if you can try theirs out, or if they have recommendations for or against a particular brand.

Great quality
The stool arrived and I noticed the box was slightly heavier than I thought it would be. Taking it out of the box the quality of this stool was clearly obvious. This is worth every penny, I’ve had other stools (looking at you Big Red) and this one puts others to shame.Curious about one thing, emailed the company but my email was returned. Anyhow my question is does the cylinder attach to the base? Every time I pick it up the base falls off. If this is just the way it is I’ll accept that and still love this stool.
