Schooling with Minecraft = Super FUN!
The media could not be loaded. This is just a really neat and fun journal. The creative writing prompts are interesting. I can't wait to see my boys complete those. What makes this unique is your child will use library books to complete some of the activity pages like Spelling Time, Reading Time, and Geography! Your child will list 8 interesting things that THEY want to learn about. Take them to the library to check out books and audio books too. They can even use Minecraft books!I have my kids pick at least one history book and one science type book. I may even pick something out for then ;)The Geography page is pretty neat. Your child is instructed to pick a country to learn about. Look it up using Google Earth and add from the country they picked to their Minecraft World. Another page has them design a Minecraft animal. The Backyard Science page has them find something in nature, draw it, and create the same item in their Minecraft world. This journal can be used as a supplement to your current curricula, after-schooling, weekend schooling and even if mom is busy teaching other children with needing to keep the others busy, give them their Minecraft journal and have them complete a few pages.Take a peek inside by viewing my video!

Funschooling life!
Wow. Seems like a simple book when u look at it, but after struggling with my son to do his ABeka curriculum, he finds it boring and not fun, he acts like a robot, I finally pulled this book out and boy did he go with it, I could see his creative mind at work. He wanted to do things in this book that he didn't like doing before. He actually took this into the bathroom with him and a tray because he didn't want to stop. Not to mention how happy he was. He's only 7, already knows how to read well, write well and math, but it is just not fun struggling to make him do over and over what's he's been doing for 2 years already. I have a older son who graduated this year, and don't want to miss the fun stuff with my 7 year old. We will be buying all our books for next year here and doing funschooling. Thank you to Sarah, I've been waiting years to find books like these, and to do unschooling/funschooling. Did I mention he is a video game lover and just started playing mine craft this year.

Another Home Run!
This has been a great journal for my nine year old son! I love the layout of this book and my son is over the moon about Minecraft. It's also written in Dyslexic Font. I would like to see the font a little bigger in some spots and some lines for writing in a few sections, but my son is very happy with it. I think he's done super well with the book.I noticed there was a comment about page repetition and while this is true, keep in mind that kids learn through repetition. You have to be presented with an activity multiple times for mastery. Some of the pages, even though they are repetitive, will be done differently every time. For example, the nature page. The page asks you to go on a walk and draw things you see in nature. If my son had his way he would draw a tree every time. Well the argument could be made that we live surrounded by trees I take him new places and have him look for little details, like birds. From these drawings we have ended up learning about new animals and plants in our natural world.Plus my son wants me to point out that you play Minecraft daily. However, I would like to point out that you don't just go around blowing things up or whatever they do in there. The book guides you to study and then build items from the world around you. Plus they sneak in math. So my son has built (this is a small list, but it gives you a general idea) an African village, the Great Wall of China, a waterfall, and the White House. I must say, I've been pretty impressed. I've also noticed that he seems to have a better grasp on certain math concepts.I would highly recommend this book if you have a reluctant learner who is a Minecraft junkie. It's set up in a way that you can use it in addition to your current curriculum OR take a leap, follow the book instructions and use it as the main curriculum.

and started having fun conversations about the things were were learning together
Homeschool became a battle to motivate my children to complete daily assignments. We took a break from our curriculum and I allowed my children to choose their own subjects. My 11 year old daughter used this book to help guide her through each day. She chose to learn about several things that I would never have guessed would be of interest. We began exploring new topics, watched fascinating documentaries, and started having fun conversations about the things were were learning together. What started as a break is now going to be our primary focus. My children are excited about learning because they can choose what they will learn. We still use a math curriculum but the math sheet will give them a chance to put on paper something they have learned for that day. She completes about 10 pages each day and it takes her several hours. I will also have a log of their work if I ever need that for my school system. We are all starting to enjoy school again.
