Nintendo Selects: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - Wii U

What do I think of this game? I think that this game is one of the best Zelda games out there next to BOTW. It is a great contrast of cartoon and action along with the great seas. Link on his grave quest to save his sister and the land makes him truly the hero of the winds. Almost all of the game is pitch perfect and truly a 10/10 masterpiece. If you have a GameCube or Wii U I highly recommend to play Wind Waker. Nintendo has always pleased us with many titles such as, Mario, Star Fox, and Donkey Kong. Although Zelda has been a revolution for the RPG genera. I would love to see this game come to switch. Make it happen Nintendo! Anyways this game has great bright colors and the HD remake and Wii U has made it even more beautiful. The mechanics and sailing gimmicks make the game. The combat in this game is golden! In fact everything in this game just fits together perfectly. Is it better than BOTW? Maybe. I haven't played BOTW so I really wouldn't know. Although BOTW has had a teeny tiny accomplishment. Game of the year 2017. Overall I think The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker is a fantastic title and showed be treasured by many. Good job Nintendo!

I love the Legend of Zelda franchise. I was one of the fools who saw the Gamecube demo of Link fighting Ganon and thought it was going to be a great Zelda game. I was one of the fools who found the first look at Wind Waker to be upsetting, although I wasn't as vehement as some were. I knew the legacy of the Zelda series and felt that it was still likely Nintendo would make a great game, but Wind Waker was visually so far from what we were expecting as fans.Then I played the game and realized how brilliant it was. The animation, the fluid controls, the story all came together to make one of the better Zelda games in the history of the franchise. Okay, so sailing the ocean is a bit repetitive by the end, so I was glad that this HD remake added a faster sail, but all in all, the game is fantastic.There aren't a lot of dungeons in this game, but they make you work to get to the end and the exploration of the islands is done very well. I could do without the early hand-holding that had become a trademark in the franchise as well as all the little collectathon crap that ends up in all these games these days, but there's still pleasure in searching for heart pieces and finding as much stuff as possible.The game is simply great and a worthy part of the franchise and the HD remaster really makes it pop on modern TV's.

This HD remake of the game fully revamps the controls, and the art to be crisp, clear, and worthy of being a standard for remakes. It has a cartoon art style, that while sometimes distracting, it never detracts from the gameplay. If you have played a video game in the past decade and a half, and have used "target locked" melee battle systems, then you understand for the most part how to play Windwaker. Lock on, dodge, counter attack, repeat. Rarely does there ever feel like a real dip in speed fighting with this system.While all the Zelda games are not adult in tone, that does not mean this is a game for kids, there is a rather enjoyable plotline, there is a great soundtrack, there isn't a succession of facepalmable dialog that you have to trudge through, its a good game that will take 20+ hours to really enjoy.

The bloom effects are a bit much here but other than that it's a pretty good re-release imo.

The Wind Waker was a game that I never bought in my Game Cube days, so this HD remake is the first time I've ever tried the Wind Waker (outside of the demo included in the LoZ Collector's Edition disc). When I saw this game for $20, I figured "I like Zelda, and never tried out the Wind Waker, so why not?"That was a great choice for me. For $20, this might be one of the best deals in modern gaming. The graphics are appealing, the music is engaging and beautiful, and the story is enchanting.There's also a really cool feature in the remake where you can send messages in bottles, letting other players find them online. It's a really cool addition to the game.10/10 would recommend.

I've never played any Zelda game before and so when I saw this one coming out as a Nintendo Select I was kind of excited to get it for the lower price, so that is definitely a selling point here. If you or anyone in your family is looking for a new game, know the Zelda series has always been popular and nothing beats this price. I've had it since it came out and I've been able to play here and there. I have not been the game yet, I don't play too religiously, but have had fun each time I've tried. I was surprised that I even died a few times, not that it's a hard game, but you definitely need to use your head and plan ahead and be strategic! When you die it takes you to the beginning of that entrance and you kind of have to start over, but it's definitely a little quicker than easier that time around.

My favorite Zelda next to Breath of the wild. this game is so charming. and the HD WiiU version is absolutely stunning to look ! is July 2020 and I never played this before. I was waiting for the game to be released on the switch, but I can't wait anymore. This is my favorite Wii U game so far. even if its released later on the switch I don't mind. I love this version. I like the map and inventory are always accessible on the gamepad. I got the game sealed brand new and I love it!!
