Portable Charcoal Chimney Starter Stainless Steel MT-18

I bought this because I was tired of the circular one taking up so much of our trunk space when going tent camping. This one collapses, and takes so much less room. If you have a truck, you probably don't need the extra space, but for car camping, this is very excellent. Product works well, and has lasted for several car campouts.

Seriously impressed by the quality of this chimney! I bought it for the compact folding design with case for camping but easily the best on market for any purpose. Simple to start with a few minutes blast of propane on my Baja burner.

The media could not be loaded. The handles are very far apart and because the chimney is made of good quality metal (which is great) it’s heavy and hard to hold up because the handle pieces sit so far apart.Other than that, it is a great product and serves its purpose. It’s good quality material and I love that it comes with a bag to store in so you’re not getting everything else super dirty. Very easy to collapse down and set up.

If you are looking to reserve as much physical space as possible when car camping, overlanding, and what not, this charcoal starter is a deal. It's seriously engineered stout. True stainless steel folds flat and comes with a storage bag.I took a risk buying this because I always focus on the negative reviews. However, the negative reviews I have seen here seemed superficial and did not really seem to reflect what their images tried to convey. For example, there is a complaint of poor engineering as the unit does not open fully square. That is correct but not a flaw. It's part of the design to allow it to double fold without tension. Hence the elbow bend in two corners. Another complaint, similar to the previous complaint is that the bottom grill is square but the housing isn't. That relates to my previous answer and it is cheaper to build a square grill than one with special notched corners and nor squared design to match the housing. Why bother doing that? The grill is meant to hold the charcoal at a set height and it does. Speaking of that grill...It is stout!! I mean the bar thickness is insane for the unit. That grill plate will outlast the housing and is just as stout as the bars found in a Weber charcoal starter (which I also own for the house grill). I haven't found any sharp edges but I can't vouch that is always the case.What I love about this unit?- It's stainless steel all around.- It's a great design. Easy to open and collapse.- It comes with a decent quality storage bag with decent zipper.- It stows away in my truck easily and will fit in any nook or cranny of space you have left on a road trip.Is there a con? None that I can think of. It's too simple to nit-pick.

I have used this camping with a portable charcol grill and it works fantastic. I have now used this for an entire season and have had not a single issue, it's very well built. I would not hesitate to purchase.

We have used this repeatedly for starting charcoals at campsites for the past 18 months and are very pleased at how well it has held up. The hinges still operate smoothly when setting up or folding closed, and so far there is very little rust. This is the perfect size for our portable grill, and folds flat to store in the bottom of our grill when we pack it away. The stainless steel has not discolored as much as I thought it would and for the most part is still shiny.

These guys make great camping equipment! I have several of their products and everyone has been well built at a very good price. This chimney is sturdy and folds up well. Works great with the their portable grill/fire pit.
