Bremner (SshhMute) Piccolo Trumpet Practice Mute

I do like this practice mute for the piccolo trumpet better than my Wick practice mute for the piccolo trumpet.Pros: easy blow, plays undistorted almost to the top and bottom of my range, lightCons: some said the tuning was true but I didn't have that experience I have to adjust my tuning slides when I use this mute, does not play true to the top and bottom of the range.Saying that, it is probably simple physics that with a mute in such a small horn you won't be able to play to the highest and lowest notes freely,

This is excellent. No practice mute replicates the same balance as playing an open trumpet, but this is one of the best, if not the best. I've used the full sized version for years and finally bought the version for piccolo trumpet. I'm so glad I did!

Sticks out a bit more from the bell on my Schilke than I thought it would, but stays put. Certainly is quiet, but not as free blowing as the standard counterpart. Still, if you need to play your pic quiet-like, it does the job. More pleasant to blow in the lower register. Once you get to G above the staff, it gets stuffy and flat.

Not as quiet as a best brass full size trumpet whisper mute or the Yamaha silent brass one, but it feels nice to play, doesn’t make it feel as weird as many other practice mutes do.

Good mute. Piccolo Trumpet can be pretty high pitched and piercing. This mute holds that sound down in an enclosed area.

Does not fit a Schilke P7-4 Custom Series Bb/A Piccolo Trumpet.

Can actually practice my piccolo at night!
