I usually order the candied orange peel from another seller on Amazon. Their price has increased, including the shipping, to the point that I decided to look for other options.I hesitated to place an order with American Best Foods because of some of the bad reviews. I went ahead with my order, mainly because of the free shipping, and hoped for the best.After receiving my order, and tasting the candied orange peel, I am happy that I didn't let a few bad reviews sway me! The orange peel is every bit as good as what I've ordered in the past from another seller. The moisture level and texture are bothgood, and the flavor is bright and delicious! I will definitely be ordering again.

Made King Arthur’s orange cookie for Christmas in the Dec catalog and they were delicious! Will be making them again!

These are so much better than I expected - and I have high expectations! Delicious orange flavour, tastes fresh yet better than fresh. Four stars only because they are a touch too damp inside, but for flavour I would give them five stars.

I am not a picky person, and normally I wouldn't bother writing a review, but I was extremely disappointed with these peels. I bought this and the orange peel pieces from the same company, and I am equally disappointed with both of them, and they suffer from the same issues.First, they arrive wet and gummy, lacking anything close to that crystallized, dry finish that it claims it has that candied fruit should. The texture is objectionable, with each piece being closer to some sort of gummy with a firm bite than anything that could ever come from a lemon.Second, it lacks almost any noticeable orange flavor or scent. If I were given a piece blindfolded, I doubt I'd guess orange flavor, much less candied orange rind.. It has the faintest menthol aftertaste that cues it into being citrus peel, but orange flavor? Hardly. Candied peels are often used in cakes and such to flavor them, but this doesn't have enough flavor by itself. It also has this very odd chemical-tasting flavor, odor and aftertaste, and it's not a good one.Overall, just do not buy this. It is a sad mockery of what candied citrus should be, and is useless for most any application you might expect it to serve in.

The candied orange peels slices are perfect when cut into tiny pieces as an additive to my 16-ingredient granola. It is the smallest in terms of amount but gives the biggest punch. Just enough to awaken the eater. It is a taste surprise--just what it was meant for!

I was looking for orange peel that I could dice and use in baking. Robust flavor was important. This product is indeed slices of orange peel coated with a solid glucose/sugar coating. The orange flavor was rather weak. I'll do some more experimentation. Maybe I need to simmer the strips in hot water to remove the sugar coating. Not sure how to enhance the flavor. Meanwhile, I think I'll place an order for one of the other diced orange peel products on offer. Maybe an alternative would be better for my muffins.
