Great outdoor fans & easy to install!
We had indoor fans on our back porch for a couple of years, and since the fan blades were wood, they started sagging and eventually had to be taken off and just as lights, so we finally decided we needed some actual outdoor fans, and landed on these based on price and other reviews. The install process was very easy! My husband didn't even need the directions. They have a type of mesh inside the "bowl" area where the motor is housed to keep bugs out, and the fan blades are plastic, so there's no chance of sagging blades as the time passes! They are super quiet, and at full speed, put off a lot of air which is going to be SOOO nice in the hot Georgia summers!

Dark Bronze? More black than bronze, but still looks great.
This is probably one of those occasions where the picture is more accurate than real life. I actually purchased this based off the picture as I was looking for a patio fan that would compliment my black faux wicker patio furniture. If you squint, you can see a hint of darker brown in the fan blades, but the base looks more like a matte black finish to me. It looks great and fit my purpose just fine. It is quiet and has no trouble providing solid airflow across my covered 20x14 patio. Installation was a breeze (pun intended), and the light provides good light at night (LED bulbs provided). If you're looking for either a dark bronze or slightly black fan, this would probably work either way for you.

NOT for outdoor use!
I received this outdoor fan on July 28th and installed on our deck. After only 4 1/2 weeks I noticed the fan blades were warping and drooping. I contacted Amazon only to find I was literally days beyond the 30-day return period. After multiple calls and texts with Amazon reps, who were difficult to understand, but assured me they “had my back,” I was sent a brand new fan — exactly the same as the original. When I called back to explain to the Asian woman that I believed this fan would do the same thing as it was a quality issue; and there was no sense in replacing a sub-par unit with another sub-par unit. She tried to connect me to Honeywell, the manufacturer, for resolution. When I finally was connected to someone in the ceiling fan department, I was told they would send me a higher grade of fan blades that were compatible with our model fan and would not warp or droop. The new fan blades arrived today — exactly the same cheap, low quality blades as before. Thanks for nothing, Amazon...and Honeywell.

Simple install and works perfectly!
Over the past year, I've installed 4 new fans inside my home, and the one outside wasn't working (motor was shot) so I wanted something relatively cheap that worked well. I decided to try this one out and out of all of the fans I've installed this was by far the easiest for some reason. Didn't take much time and instructions were simple and clear. I was kind of confused at first because it wasn't putting off much air, but I figured it out after awhile that I needed to flip the switch on the fan to blow air down and not suck it up. I'm just used to all fans not needing that out of the box, but other than that this thing is great and we love it.It asked to rate the remote control feature, I'm not sure why because as far as I know, this unit doesn't have one.

Not quite "Outdoor"-proof
Main reason for 4 stars is lack of complete outdoor-proofing. In this part of the country there are a number of insects that like to cause trouble by building nests in the most obscure places. Mud Daubers and their ilk come to mind. A simple screen over the air vents would solve this. I made mine from some drywalling fiberglass mesh, with the help of a pair of scissors and a glue gun. If you do this before mounting (unlike me) it will be much easier (and neater). Modest air noise of full speed. Other than that, a great unit, easily installed by just myself.
