Je ne m'attendais pas à une telle largeur pour chaque morceau. On pourrait en faire deux avec chacun, rendant le produit d'un usage plus économique.

Basically these are full of fumes, so if you like that smell then go ahead. The did light ok but did need an additional firelighter and it did last about an hour and a half. But lots of fumes.

I had done quite a bit of research into the alternatives before deciding to try these Homefire Instant Light Fire logs, and had selected them to test primarily due to the price and the other helpful reviews on Amazon recommending them. Obviously the note saying this is one of Amazon’s least returned products was a reassuring part of that process too. I was searching for an affordable option after having spontaneously bought a similar product from a local garage forecourt at a much higher price and, having followed the instructions on the package and advice in other reviews about how best to use these fire logs, I have been exceptionally pleased with this purchase. In fact discovering this option has transformed my home and had a positive impact on my health after I had been impacted by cold fatigue during the previous 3 winters given that it had become too costly to turn on all the night storage heaters in my cottage, as I would have done in previous years. That is as these logs have proved to be an affordable and easy way to heat the main room where I currently spend a lot of time when working from home. I had bought these logs to test because (as already mentioned) I have night storage heaters to warm my cottage and even when turned up to maximum capacity and set on minimum output they used to leave my compact cottage chilly by the evening, especially in the depths of winter, meaning some rooms dropped below 15°C; not a good option when one already has health and mobility issues. Despite that lack of ‘evening performance’, the night storage heaters had also become very expensive to run since the energy price increases in recent years and, as an older model (ie +26 years old) they had to be manually adjusted to respond to changes in temperature too. Having also read research data that indicated it was actually cheaper per kW of heat to use reconstituted fire logs (ie than night storage heaters), I realised I really needed to use my multi-fuel stove/log burner again to keep my cottage warmer & more cosy this winter. However I had, for some time, also not been well enough to set a fire and then clean it out regularly (I still have a shed full of seasoned wood that I had been unable to utilise in recent years). These Homefire Natural Instant Light Fire Logs have completely transformed that situation as they really do light instantly (when a lighted match is used to light the 4 places indicated on the 4 corners of the wrapping on the fire log) and they also, as stated, produce very little ash when compared to wood logs. That means there is much longer between needing to clear out the ash box as I found that these instant Light Fire Logs continued to burn well despite not clearing out the ash box for weeks; a real game changer for me! I have now also found it is actually best (or at least for my Woodwarm 8kW multi-fuel stove/log burner) to lay the Instant Light Fire Log log on a bed of existing ash, (sometimes having ‘warmed’ the chimney first by burning a ball of newspaper to help the chimney ‘draw’) and then initially increase the airflow by opening the bottom vent, prior to lighting the log wrapping, and leaving the bottom vent open until the log itself is throughly alight, after which I close that vent to prolong the burn time which tends to be between 2-3 hours. Only very occasionally have I had to go back and relight one end of the wrapper if I haven’t had quite enough airflow or the chimney was not ‘drawing’ enough at the point of lighting the log. The heat then thrown out (as other reviews mention) seems disproportionate to the size of the log so I can quite see why some reviewers mention that they had piled several into their fire pit, thinking that would be needed, but then had to douce the resulting blaze down with a hose pipe! Having read those reviews I was cautious to stick to the ‘burning one log at a time’ option advised, but now I am most of the way through my second order (4 boxes and will certainly be ordering more) I have discovered that, with care, I can keep a continuous fire burning by adding a second log once the first log has got the a smouldering glow stage (despite that not being advised on the instructions!). That works if I then also still light the corners of the wrapper, where indicated, to start that new log burning properly. Also as I have an 8kW multi-fuel stove/ log’ burner, I have, with experimentation, also discovered that I can set a second log burning an hour after starting the first if I really need to get some heat distributed through my cottage by opening all the internal doors. Though that is definitely only an option on a very cold day as otherwise the heat produced by 2 logs burning at the same time would be oppressive. Another aspect that I found very positive about these particular Instant Light Fire Logs (having found the opposite with the first more expensive option that I tested) is that I find there is n’t any chemical smell left in the room where I store them. That is given that I had anticipated there might need to be an accelerant of some kind to keep the logs burning, so I had been expecting there would be a similar smell to the one that fire lighter blocks give off (which I find quite unpleasant). As I haven’t found that any volatile compounds that are given off, I now order more boxes at the same time, unbox them and am able to keep them piled them up ready in a log basket near my multi-fuel stove. In summary, I find these Homefire Instant Light Fire logs - an excellent product - that do exactly what they claim to, - put out a get level of heat, - don’t have an unpleasant chemical smell - and are at a more affordable price than some other options All the above meaning that I will keep ordering them as I find them an excellent option which have solved the long standing issue of how to more affordable heat my cottage via the multi-fuel stove/log butner already in situ.

Good burners and burns for a while enabling me to put a larger log on my fire which I have stored in the garden but didn't have the time to make kindling of. Weighs 2.5 kilos which is good value and free delivery....what's not to like? I recommend this product with no reservations.
