Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn (Kenard Pak's Changing Seasons)

Really enjoyed.
This is such a sweet little book. My girls (Aged 6 & 4.5) loved discovering how the pages went together (she picks flowers, has a bouquet, then hands flowers out to people, etc)They quickly figured out that one side is the girl talking to the season, and the season responding on the opposite page. It’s a nice book for the transition seasons.I personally love the style of illustrations. A very beautiful book.

Fantastic illustrations - poorly written text
The book is about a girl who is taking a walk at the end of summer/early fall. She says "Hello" to animals, thunder, wind, leaves, etc. and they respond. The pictures are gorgeous and that's why I purchased the book, but the text is poorly written. Take for instance this line, "Hello, breezy wind. Hello! I love to whoosh drizzle and leaves through the misty streets." What does that even mean, "whoosh drizzle and leaves"? We gave up reading the book and now just make up our own story. It's too bad because the illustrations are truly fantastic.

This book is perfect for curling up with on a cooler fall day.
I absolutely love the changing seasons from summer into fall. GOODBYE SUMMER, HELLO AUTUMN captures some of the things I love about the changing of the seasons, perfectly. Both in story telling, and vivid fall colored illustrations, Pak helps readers understand the changing of the warm summer days, into the chilly shorter fall days.Joining the young girl on her walk from her house, through the woods and country, and into her small town, and back again, readers see how nature prepares itself for the change from summer to autumn. As the girl welcomes the changes, she's greeted by nature, who tells her of each change. From the fox getting ready to hibernate, to the last of the summer flowers, to the chilly wind, everything has a purpose. With bright colorful changes on the trees, flowers and leaves, to the animals and bugs making preparations for cooler weather, readers see how everything gets ready for fall. This is a delightful story with charming illustrations. I love the diverse characters featured in this book, and all the details featured in each of the pages of this book. This book is perfect for curling up with on a cooler fall day.

One of our favorites!
We LOVE this book. Even though I've bought it for my daughter, it's truly one of our favorites and I've put it on display on our bookshelf. How great to have such a beautiful book to celebrate the season with. The book is thoughtfully written, has beautiful illustrations that invite to explore and dream away. Thank you Kenard!Insider info: The writer is currently working on a 'Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring' book, and a 'Goodbye Spring, Hello Summer' book!

A lovely book for preschoolers about fall
I work with preschoolers and this book was a perfect introduction to fall. The diversity in the people on the pages, the beautiful illustrations and the sing-songy text made this an engaging read for even the hard-to-sit-still listeners.

LOVE!
My classroom library has all the books in this seasons’ series. My students love being able to make connections to the seasons and anticipate what season is “coming” next based on the words and illustrations. A MUST for any classroom!

Nightly Bedtime story favorite
My daughter absolutely LOVES this book. It's not the most interesting read for the adult though, it's very repetitive. The art work throughout the book is so beautiful which makes it hard to dislike the book. This was my daughter's nightly favorite until the seasons changed.

Llibre molt bonic de la tardor
Les imatges són molt boniques i expliquen el pas del temps entre dues estacions. Pots aprofundir i anar explicant els detalls que van sortint al llarg de la història. Intentarem comprar la resta de la col.lecció.

Beautiful Book!
Love this book, my 3 year old loves it as well, the illustrations are beautiful and the story prompts a lot of questions from my daughter. What a great way to talk about season changing in story form. Highly recommend!
