I have not had this problem on any other of my audiobooks: The narration periodically skips forward and skips backward. Annoying enough that I stopped listening partway through the first book.

Should've read the review saying it skips, because it does. Also, in the recording of Master of the World, several names of places are mispronounced so badly as to be irritating. It may jar you out of the story, it did for me.

Not all are for everyone, but there's a lot here to sample for a great price.Review would be a lot higher, except that the file is huge -- close to 2 gb. That wouldn't be a problem except that the app keeps failing to function in with the file after a time and requires it has to be redownloaded way too often. Quite a pain, and unworkable when operating on mobile data. This has spoiled my enjoyment of the selection. Had to download the whole bit five or six times, and still didn't get through 2000 Leagues Under the Sea.

I have 24 chances to like this anthology. I drive a lot and listen to lots of books on tapes. I love classic books, so when I saw this collection of classic books with the quality of Audible, I was like, how can I lose? I'm on book one, "Journey to the Center of the Earth." Before I bought it, I would have loved to have it as a book on tape but wouldn't pay a credit for just one book. Bundle it with 23 other classics with 121 hours of listening? Sold! Enjoying the first book very much. If it's the only one I like, it would be worth it, but I have confidence I'll enjoy at least a few others.

Might be great stories, but the playback quality is so bad with skips and starts and stops that I gave up halfway through the first story.

I have had trouble listening to this audible book. First, I had trouble getting the book to start. Second, I am having trouble keeping it going. The book will play, then stop, saying there is an error and please try again later. The tough thing is, I want to listen to a book when I have time! This has been THE MOST FRUSTRATING BOOK EVER!!!!!!!

Of COURSE we want to love it. But without seeing a complete index first, it's a gamble. The one review on Audible is a one star and says it was just thrown together. I need more info.Audible still hasn't removed the first book I returned for a credit. I'm not going to get stuck again.

This is the best audio book I have ever purchased in terms of value. Lots and lots of great old books read well. I have not finished the whole thing yet and have enjoyed every story I listened to. If you sort of know the old classic SciFi stories by some of the great authors but never actually read them this is your chance to get them and listen to them.
