Not a knife collector, but...
I just wanted a utilitarian knife to carry around. So I spent a quarantine day reading reviews of Spydercos and Benchmades and everything in between, before settling on the Sage 5 lightweight. It just arrived, and all this amateur can say is, what a sweet little old knife! Its operation is as smooth as can be, it is small and lightweight, a real gem. I do not want a collection. I just need one knife to keep on hand, and I am quite happy with this purchase!

Best Spyderco knife on the market!
This is Spyderco’s best knife in my opinion. I have 10 other Spyderco’s, the Sage 5 being my 11th. By far the most under rated Spyderco. The action is so smooth it’s hard in explain until you experience it for yourself. The compression lock is my favorite type of lock. There isn’t one hot spot on this knife, it just feel so natural and so good in the hand. I would recommend this knife to anyone, wether you are someone like me who owns 10 Plus Spyderco’s or someone who is purchasing their first folding knife. Anyone will be equally impressed with this little knife. Just buy it

Bugout beater
This knife is very light (hence the name) but it feels very solid. I wear a large size glove at work (hvac installer) and this knife has aVery natural feel in the hand. Good finger choil and jimping on choil and top side of blade. And for deployment Smoother than a babies bum. Pivot bushing and bronze washers. The pm2 and para 3 only got the washers and you can feel the differences this is the most underrated spyderco I feel

As Expected and Fast Shipping!!!
Extremely fast shipping from Washington to North Carolina. Product is as described, brand new and perfect. Blade centering is dead center, blade is sharp and locks up tight. I would recommend this seller to others.

Highly Underrated EDC Knife
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is my first Spyderco with a compression lock. After just a few hours of opening and closing on the couch. It is the smoothest knife i own. Very underrated knife. In my opinion it looks a lot better than the paramilitary 3. Came razor sharp. Even grinds. Will buy again just to have a 2nd one on hand in case it ever breaks or is discontinued. If you want a smooth opening, solid locking, edc knife, you really can't go wrong with the Sage 5.

A very well engineered cutting tool.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is a very well engineered cutting tool. Smooth action, great ergonomics, good steel, lightweight. Overall it’s just very satisfying feeling to use it. I’ve been using Ontario RAT2 as my edc for the last five years. Decided to upgrade to something similar in size, but with better steel. Glad I’ve found this little monster.

Lightweight, ergonomic, great blade
I am a knife addict. I have multiple knives at my disposal but this is my favorite EDC. I love the compression lock. It's my favorite locking mechanism. This sets in the pocket well. I love the wire clip. This kicked my Para 3 LW out of the number 1 position with it's lower profile, better blade steel and just feels more finished.

Best overall EDC?
An exemplary be knife in every respect! Blade steel, centering, machining, fit and finish. Very impressive ergonomics, opening and closing actions. Compression lock is a strong favorite for me.In my considered user/enthusiast collection, the Sage 5 resides with my TRM models, Tuya Envy, Real Steel Lynx, Benchmade Presidio mini, Hogue Ritters and Para 3 M390.I kept reading the recurring reviews and finally had to get one. I'm now delighted to own and use this knife! Also pretty addictive to flip in front of TV after the wife goes to bed (!).
