What are these blades coated with?

I dont know what they are coated with, but they shave smooth. A good price on the blades.

Are these made for Gillette safety rasors?

These will work in any double edge safety razor with the thread off top or butterfly open. So yes they'll work in an old Gillette double edge safety razor too. Your razor should look like one of these https://goo.gl/images/jHiwMl

Do these have gum points inside the wrapper like astras used to? tia.

I use both brands. I am not familiar with "gum points." I do, however, really like the blades. Perhaps, not as sharp as Feathers, but smoother. Ideally, I get about 3-4 shaves per blade. One of my 3 favorite blades.

Are these blades better than feather razor blades

I've found Feathers a little sharper out of the wrapper, but Silver Blues seem to be smoother and I get more shaves per blade.
