One usually can't go wrong with Pyrex products. Very good glass set with lids. Great for storage purposes, and much better than using plastic ware. These containers do stack up nicely (with the lids on) in the fridge, and take up less room than other storage pieces I've used. The size of these containers works perfectly for smaller households. And, a very good price at $14.99.I don't think I have ever placed any of my plastic lids in the dishwasher. It makes sense to me that if doing so, over time they would break down. What's it take to wash a lid or two by hand anyways?On another note... For the first time since Dec. 2008, I received an order from Amazon that wasn't as advertised. I don't believe this was by any fault of Amazon, because the packaging of this product was secure and undamaged. Two of the lids were missing-1 bowl, 1 rectangular. Appeared as though the lids were just not packaged correctly;seemed to be a QC issue on the part of the product supplier.I've got to tell everyone though that my 1st experience with returning an Amazon item could not have gone any better! I immediately went online to inform Amazon of the problem and was given step-by-step instructions on how to return the item. I followed the instructions and printed out the Amazon barcode and return mailing label as directed. I always open packaging boxes carefully and keep everything until I'm absolutely sure I don't need the packaging materials & boxes any longer. So, all I had to do was repackage the items as I found them and securely tape the boxes closed. As per the instructions, I affixed the mailing label on the same Amazon box and shipped it back, at no cost to me. How sweet!On a Friday I notified Amazon about the problem online, indicating that I wanted a replacement item. The following Monday Amazon shipped the replacement order and it arrived two days later. When all of this took place, I was preparing to travel out of state in a few days. Initially I assumed it would take several days for the replacement shipment to arrive, and I was concerned that the box would sit out on my porch for days. But lo and behold, the new shipment was at my front door within 3 business days--just in time, before going on vacation!What great customer service Amazon! And, I want to say thank you for making your returns procedure so easy to follow. When mistakes are made, it sure is nice to know it won't be a "hassle" to remedy the problem. I will surely enjoy using these Pyrex glass storage containers, and the great customer service makes it doubly so. Again, Thank You Amazon!

I am an avid reviewer, and I usually read the bad reviews first. I purchased this to supplement by red pyrex set, and I have the 11-cup rectangular baker as well. First and foremost, the "European", version is our MOM'S corning type. So it can handle a HOT TO COLD surface. THESE WILL NOT. you must set this: if, coming from oven, or even Microwave, on a cloth trivet, that is dry. PERIOD. or it will CRACK. Also UNLIKE our old ones, you can not DEFROST, under hot water. Or else, internal hairline cracks. These are great for baking in a pre-heated oven, and as neat and inexpensive serving bowls. I purchased these to use as a breading kit. Since, the glass, cleans better than any plastic. Also great for cold salads, and fruits for picnics. SO ALL IS NOT LOST. Pyrex, still beats plastic- any day.Just keep in mind, these are not like the 50-90's glassware. These are a cheaper, more tempermental version. But still a great value. Considering stainless, nonstick or melamine,- and dare i say plastic. -eeeeeeew.What's important: They have the "cleaning" advantages of glass, that we love.THINGS YOU CAN NOT DO WITH THE NEW FORMULA:1. Previous to these, I'd always used plastic Ziploc brand containers to store food. Not only were they prone to staining and breaking, but a couple of times they popped open and spilled in bags when bringing food to work in them. I'd always been told great things about Pyrex and now I realize why. Not only are they just elegant looking, they're worth the money. They clean really easily, they're incredibly durable, and the lids seal the containers securely. For about $6 a container, it's a really good price. Even if you find it a high price in comparison to competition, it's worth the investment. My parents have had their pyrex storage for years and it's still going strong. Highly recommend these to anyone who's interested in good quality food storage that'll last you.

Excellent quality - glass is not too heavy to carry to work for lunch. I like the colour of the lids - bought four sets, a set for each one of the kids. I like the fact that they are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe - of course you don’t microwave the lids and place lids on top rack of the dishwasher.

Los compré para desechar los tupper en la lonchera. Es desagradable recalentar en el microondas y que el plástico se vaya deformando y absorbiendo el color de los alimentos que guardes. Estoy muy satisfecho ya que estos no tienen ninguno de esos problemas. Los únicos detalles que les tengo es que obviamente son más pesados que tuppers de plástico, pero no tanto como para no querer usarlos o ser incómodos al transportar. El otro es que al calentarse en el microondas el traste se calienta bastante, hay que tener cuidado y usar un paño al sacarlos. Aún asi estos dos detalles no me harían regresar a usar contenedores de plástico.

Its chemically safer using Pyrex containers,be careful where you get these products from,testing proves some sources of these items spews toxins when heated in the microwave.Of course Amazon is legit supplier so no fear of that.Lids fit tight and feels durable,the bowls itself has a good heft to it so should be able take a bit of abuse.

I decided to return to glass storage containers. Plastic is not breakable. However glass storage is much healthier. Another bonus is that I can clearly see what is in each one. I have been very pleased with these containers, and will likely order another set. Would highly recommend this product.
