One of the only affordable Octa Core 10 inch tablets by a major brand!
There are not many 10 inch tablets in this price range. The closest competitor would be the Lenovo Tab2 A10. The Lenovo has a better screen and twice the RAM. The Acer has an Octacore processor vs. a quad core in the Lenovo. The Acer has better speakers. So they are very well matched. The Acer costs just about the same as the Lenovo. The Acer may have gorilla glass but I can't confirm that. Corning's website lists the Iconia range as having gorilla glass while the Lenovo for sure doesn't. The other feature that Acer has added is a multitasking app which allows two apps open on the screen at the same time like browser and email. Seems to work well. Overall the Acer is not bad and works surprisingly well for the limited RAM. Limited gaming works well so far. Screen is bright but the resolution could be better. Viewing angles are nice. The Mediatek 8151v uses the older arm cortex 7 not the newer cortex a53. Graphics is Mali 450mp which is ok. I was hoping this had the newer a53 but the processor is a lot better than the cheap Allwinner a83t in some of the no name brands. In fact for not a lot more than the Dragon touch x10 you get a much better tablet. In fact, I have seen this very tablet on eBay for the same price as the Dragon touch. It may not have all the ports but it is a much better made device. So all in all it is a decent tablet but the low screen resolution and low RAM are two key factors for making it great. The tablet has decent benchmarks rating at over 37,000 on antutu and doing very well on geekbench multi core. Bottom line the Octa Core processor makes a big difference. If this tablet had 1.5-2 GB of RAM it would really be fast.
