This is an easy-to-read rhyming book. The story is super cute with a positive ending!

The book is about ice cream and it’s engaging for all kids. It has a lot of standard sight words and other, easy, 3-4 letter words at kindergarten to first grade level. Some of the phrases repeat throughout the book which makes them easier to teach and rewarding for the kid when they get them right.

So glad I purchased these books!!! Our 5 year old grand son has really gotten the hang of sounding out the words (the pictures help when he’s not sure) and his 3 year old brother loves to take a turn “reading” too. ( 😉) cute stories!!!

I really like these Penguin Young Readers. I open up a lot of the "Level 1" books, and I'm scratching my head, going, this is Level 1??? It seems like most comparable series contain lots of big words, and so many words per page that my son gets mentally exhausted after just a few pages. And somehow the story is still terrible! But these Penguin Young Readers are what I think of as a TRUE Level 1, for the kid who is just putting everything together and starting to read. It's such a great feeling for my little man to be able to read the whole book himself. And I've got to hand it to the author- they did a fantastic job putting together a cute, funny story with just a few simple words! This is the first book my son ever read all by himself, and it's probably my favorite out of this series. I also like the fact that this series has original stories, rather than just something canned about some cartoon characters that usually doesn't even have a story in there. I've already got about 4 of these Penguin Young Readers, and I'm going to go out and buy some more.

Got this for a cross country flight for my 2 year old. She still wants to read it every other night!

Looks exactly as pictured and my kid absolutely loved it thought it was hilarious. 10/10 it was an enjoyable read

We purchased these books to help my 3 and 4 year old begin to read. They're great, have big bold words and the books came in new condition. Will purchase more.

Love this summertime book with the ice cream truck making its rounds! What happens when you mix and stir and do it again? Ice cream soup! So we matched the ingredients in the book, and made our own!

Fun with words. Vocabulary is limited for beginner reader. My children love it. It’s funny and makes them giggle. I read it to the younger one a hundred times.

One of our favorites in our book collection. My child not only loves the story but she really loves to see what the kitties are doing throughout the story. I love the rhyming and simpleness of the story, and it makes for a great quick bedtime read.
