Xmas gift for some young boys

It was fine.... idk... i got this for my 5 year old nephew because he wanted a red yo-yo... It's probably been at least 20 years since I played with a yo-yo and i remember it more fun and easier to play with. My nephew also lost interest quickly in the yo-yo.

I bought this to make a last minute prop for my Cosplay, so it was within budget. After painting it, it came out really nice. Now, actually using it is where it gets sticky. The twine attached was okay, but after three yo-yo drops, it began to unravel. It is too the point now, where I can not fix it and only uses it for faraway pictures. You get what you pay for I guess.

About 60 years ago, yo-yo's were a big deal, with travelling Duncan demonstrators who amazed us kids with tricks. Those yo-yo's had wooden axles and were fairly easy to make "catch" on the string. This latter day yo-yo is fun and does all the tricks, but it has a metal axle that is very smooth, and I've had difficulty getting it to wind back up from scratch if the string is fully extended. That's the only reason I did not give it five stars. (Probably operator error)

I don't know much about Yo-Yo's but my son purchased this because he had a desire to learn how to use a Yo-Yo. Since then you'll see a little red orb bouncing up and down around our house. He's no Yo-Yo guru but he's enjoy playing with the toy.

I know yo-yo's are tricky, but despite being a premier brand I had a surprisingly difficult time making it work and my kids had absolutely no luck. Now it just sits in a box somewhere waiting for either someone who wants it or maybe a trip to the local 2nd hand store.

It's a really attractive yoyo. Mine exploded after just an hour's use. I've glued it back together but now it just sits with the collection as I can't use it. Has a nice medium weight and is very responsive. I decided to give it 3 stars because I'm sure mine was a freak accident. I didn't ask for a replacement.
