This controller is amazing! I got it on sale, and was skeptical about how long the battery would hold its charge for before I needed to recharge it. Well, I am able to game on my XBS for several days of active gaming and even after a month, it will remain charged. I like being able to take it apart and when I want to take it with me because it fits better in my backpack when I make make it smaller. At home I use it as a full size controller and benefit from the back buttons. I am happy to say that the huge amount of play time between charges is accurate and powerA impressed me yet again with their well made controller.

For such an expensive device it doesn’t even work with a popular game title that my Xbox connects to automatically. I wanted this controller for my IPad game Roblox which my normal controller is to big to carry with me. This smaller version would be perfect! If it actually worked. But no matter the amount of trouble shooting it just would not connect or work. I’m more than disappointed, after that amount of money it doesn’t work? On something it was advertised to be able to do? Don’t waste the money, not worth it

It is an amazing controller

I REALLY like the design of this controller! But for the price, i don't see the point of dealing with all it's hiccups when i have $20-60 controllers that work much more frequently. The MOGA XP-ULTRA could be so cool to work with, I love how I can remove the handles and have a mini-controller, the grips are excellent. It feels better then my standard Xbox Series X controller. It SHOULD work better, but it doesn't! It very frequently starts to disconnect after 1-2 hours of gameplay, even though it still has a full battery. The disconnect is momentary, like 1 second or a little more but this can happen every minute or every few minutes and the frequency of disconnects really hampers gameplay. The issue is likely internal, the bluetooth mechanism inside is not good quality, I'm not sure what it is, I don't open things up to find out myself. This disconnect issue is unique to the Xbox Series X and i haven't tried it on other platforms, except for my PC. When connecting to my PC, it should be perfect but suffers other issues while wireless. The controller is perfect while WIRED on PC only. No issues whatsoever, but I can't get this bastard to be friendly with Xbox PC games wirelessly. I have Starfield for instance, which i'm playing on my Series X (where the controller frequently disconnects as described above) and i'm using cross saves to continue the same game on my PC. On PC, I can't even detect the controller! It doesn't show up in the Xbox Accessories app for PC nor can the game register it. Steam games appear to register the controller but the controller doesn't really function all that well. I can't get the left joystick to register any vertical motion in my copy of Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam/PC. I've tried many troubleshooting steps with zero luck. I'm also playing this game via cross saves to Xbox Series X, where, again, this MOGA XP-ULTRA constantly starts disconnecting and reconnecting itself on console. So what's the point? I have better controllers, I can buy other controllers for cheaper that won't give me such headaches. I really want to love this controller! I'm gonna try it for a couple more hours tomorrow, and play it wired on Xbox Series X. The physical design is phenomenal and I love the features, I also got this MOGA XP-ULTRA on a great sale this year and didn't pay full price. But i don't see the point in keeping it and not getting my money back for another quality controller that's as good as it is on the inside as it is on the outside. The MOGA XP-ULTRA boasts phenomenal, multi-functional design on the outside, but whatever's inside of the controller DOES NOT WORK WELL ENOUGH with my games and platforms, whether it's software or hardware issues is beyond me. I'll be sad to box this back up and see it go. Please, try and test these controllers better, you really have something here that could be a great experience for gamers on multiple platforms. Update: I forgot to return this damn controller and got too busy with other life issues. I kept using it and later learned that a firmware update could potentially fix the disconnect issues. Welp, that went and made it even worse! I tried updating the controller's firmware to fix the disconnect issue, it just disconnected randomly every few hours as described above. I used the type C wire the controller came with, plugged into the Xbox USB port during the entire update. The update completed successfully but now none of the buttons do anything, the controller cannot turn off. All lights stay on, but zero function. Controller is not detected by any device anymore. Bricked entirely. Just filed a warranty claim. I really regret keeping this thing and forgetting to return for the final time back then, ugh!

Excellent quality

If you leave the handles off this controller is great for kids. You do lose rumble if leave them off though. And I love that it connects directly to the system without a dongle. Battery life has been great.

I really wanted to love the PowerA XP-Ultra Wireless Controller. From a design and comfort standpoint, it’s excellent. The compact form factor makes it easy to handle for longer gaming sessions, and the build quality feels solid. The modular design is also a nice touch and adds some versatility depending on how you like to play. However, the main reason I purchased this controller was to use it wirelessly with my ROG Ally, and unfortunately, that’s where it falls short. While it connects via Bluetooth, it does not function properly in many non-Steam games, especially within Xbox/Game Pass environments. It seems to be recognized more like a generic controller rather than a true Xbox input device when used wirelessly, which limits its usability. On the flip side, it works perfectly when connected via USB, with full compatibility and no issues. But that defeats the purpose of buying a wireless controller in the first place. Overall, this is a great-feeling controller with strong build quality, but if your goal is to use it wirelessly with devices like the ROG Ally, you may run into frustrating limitations. Because of that, I’m giving it 3 stars.

Save your time, don't bother buying. 3 random disconnects first time I used then controller froze immediately after firmware update with lights on. Wouldn't respond to anything. Internal battery so no option to remove that for resetting. I really wonder if these companies ever test anything anymore before it's put into mass production. Last Power A product for me ever.
