Messy, gross, and exactly what my kids wanted
What I likedTons of activities, kept my kids busy for hours. The “dissect a brain” kit was their favorite.Instructions are clear and easy for kids to follow. What I didn’t likeSome experiments are very messy—prepare your table!A few items feel more like toys than real science. My experienceMy 9-year-old loved making slime and showing it off. It turned into a fun family activity.Final verdictPerfect gift for curious kids who like gross stuff. Just make sure they’re ready for cleanup afterwards.

Perfect and fun
My son got this for his 7th birthday and has had an absolute blast doing the experiments. The quality is nice, it isn't as messy as I thought it would be. The experiments haven't been too challenging and everything functions well. Lots of colorful and gross things to do. I definitely recommend this kit.

Fun, educational, messy and worth every penny
I have bought several science kits over the years and this by far is the best. Here’s some of my favorite parts about this kit:1. Sturdy box with compartments to help organize all the stuff inside2. Two books included, one with detailed photo instructions for the experiments that are done from the box, sans another book with experiment ideas with items from around your house. The books also go into detail about the chemical reactions with the way they do.3. Everything you need to do the experiments is included in the box: bowls, cups, stir sticks, measuring spoons and beakers, powders, dyes, etc. No more messing up spoons and bowls from your own cabinets.4. This is probably not important to most people but I find it to be awesome. They included tiny ziplock bags for storing the powders after you open them, and labels for your creations.5. The experiments were easy, and turned out great every time.My son spent hours working on experiments and still has lots of experiments left to do! This is a great set and worth every penny. It would make a great gift for any kid. I will definitely be buying more kits like this one from National Geographic. This one really lived up to their brand!

Autistic son approved mommy approved
Kept my autistic son busy for at least seven hours. Definitely needs adult assistance, but totally worth every minute of bonding time.

So fun!
Nephew - 7 absolutely loved it! I did a few of the experiments with him. Easy & fun! Had a blast. Some were a bit messy too, but worth it! The only one we had trouble with was making the eye balls! Otherwise they all worked great!
