Excellent Tool For VW Spark Plugs
Used this tool on my 08 VW City Golf 2.0L.For the most part it's simple to use pulling the coils off the plugs safely. The only awkward part seemed to be with cylinder 2 and 3 under the intake manifold because the way the wires sit in the clips, and the angle required to grab without twisting them. Just needs a bit of patience!

Works as described.
Worked well on my 2004 2lt vw beetle.

Avoid if using for 2.0 MK4 VW
I’m going to save you guys the headache and saying this won’t work for a MK4 2.0 Volkswagen. This isn’t a substitute to the dealer tool, matter of fact it wouldnt even grip the plug, and when I got it to grip it, it did pull of the plug, however, I couldn’t get the plug off this. I swear to god it was impossible to get it off. Just please take my advice and avoid this if you’re buying this for this job. It may work for other engines but it WILL NOT work for the 2.0 MK4 engine.

Required grinding with angle grinder to make it work
The handle shaft is welded to the inside of the puller. The shaft interferes with the spark plug boot so that the puller cannot fully seat on the boot so it can be rotated to engage with the lug on the boot. I had to use an angle grinder to grind down the handle shaft as shown in the photo. The handle shaft should have been welded to the outside of the boot puller, not the inside.

Much like the other reviewers..
The handle being welded to the inside can potentially rip and cut the top of your silicone sparkplug boot if you use this for install and pressing down boots to lock them inplace. The fitment is too close all around even for removal. Sent back brand new without using it :(
