I love this Otis automatic vacuum switch. It’s easy to use and works perfectly every time. I use it for my shop vac so can’t comment on connecting it to a dust collection system. I looked at a few of the other switches before purchasing this one and none were suited for my needs. Others were two plugs for vacuums and only one for tool. The Otis switch is designed so that two tools can be plugged in at once with the ability of either one to trigger the vacuum. I’ve used it on a variety of tools including my job site table saw and a small router table without any problems. I’ve dragged it around, dropped and stepped on it multiple times and still no issues. Lately I seem to be using my miter saw most often so the switch is now mounted next to the saw but still accessible so that I can reach it and plug in whatever other tool I may need. I like having the option to turn the switch to auto, off, or on. The shut off delay times also come in handy depending on the circumstance. I plan on buying a few more of these switches so that I can mount permanently next to stationary tools and have at least one that will be mobile so I can drag it around as needed.

This is really a Must Have in anyone’s woodworking shop if you are trying to use a dust collection system in a shop! I really like the way this switch cuts the dust collection vacuum on whenever you start to use your table saw and in the past I had to remember to cut my vacuum on before I started using my saw and I always seemed to forget to cut my dust collection vac on before I would start using my saws to keep the dust from overtaking my shop! When you put this switch inline with your saws, you never have to worry about remembering to cut the dust collector on before starting up your saws because it will cut your system on every time you start the saw up and you will be surprised at how easy it is to use this switch when using your saws and your dust collector starts up automatically every time you cut your saws or any other tool in your shop on! As I said this is a Must Have in anyones woodworking shop!

I ordered this in spite of knowing the mounting tabs where weak and an issue pointed out in the reviews, When the switch was delivered, one of the mounting tabs had already been broken, I returned and replaced with an identical switch. When tested, it worked fine with my 120v Stop saw and 20 Gallon shop vac, I plan to reinforce the mounting before permanently mounting the switch. If I have any issues with durability or longevity, I will repost.

I was looking for something to connect to a couple tools that presented challenges for connecting to to my larger dust collection set up. I connected this to a shop vac that I has hoses running to the miter saw and a disk sander. It has worked as well as I hoped. Some people have complained about it breaking after a period of time. I have had it for a couple months and use it frequently in my furniture projects. On the miter saw, if you pause for a second before starting to cut it comes on quickly and turns off based on the setting you choose. So far I am very happy with the purchase. Assuming I get decent life out of it I will have no complaints as this solved a source of frustration in my shop.

Used this when installing 700 ft of baseboard. Love not having to turn on vacuum every cut.

I love this thing. I have my vac hooked up to my miter saw with it, and as soon as I engage the blade the saw kicks on. I have mine set to run for 5 seconds after the saw blade stops so it clears the hose.

Purchased to replace my failing 'name brand' us wood workers are familiar with... the yellow one. This works great and has added features, and especially like the adjustable runtime after use feature.

I attached this to a dust cart that I built so I can have everything turn on accordingly. It works flawlessly and the ability to use in various modes and select the time after use it shuts off is very nice. The multiple hanging methods included are a great touch.

Slight delay when tool trigger pulled but works great!!
