Our loft hatch came with a plastic key which warped over time to the point it stopped working. Ordered this set of two which arrived within the day and they are miles better. Much more sturdy.

My neighbours were stuck in the lift for 2 hours. We tried to pry the doors open to get them out but they were locked at the top and no amount of force would open them. The fire brigade came and they used one of these keys and they were out in a matter minutes. So I bought these keys in case it happens again. I checked that they fit our lift and sure enough they unlock the door at the top no problems. Buy a set give one to your neighbours so they can get you out if you get stuck. At this price you’d be silly not to

Nice and strong

Perfectly good product but not as advertised. They are Chrome Plated base metal not stainless steel. Bought to cut in half and extend to make a specific tool so I can vouch for this. If you look closely in one of the photos you can see the copper plating in the socket where the chrome has not fully covered it (copper is used first as chrome won’t directly bond to the cast base metal). Fine for occasional use but not strong enough to withstand daily use. Also a bit of a con to miss sell as stainless so avoid this retailer.
