PLEASE don't stop making this model!
It is so difficult to find just a plain old coffee maker these days. I don't need something that does back-flips or costs more than my cable bill. This one works QUITE WELL if you just like plain, old, good-tasting coffee. Easy to use, program, clean, and the timer seals the deal. I expect it would be more durable under "normal" use, but ours is on at least 18 hours a day, so we go through it's useful burner life in about 18 months. I am so worried B & D will stop making them, I have a back-up in storage and might buy another one, just in case.

It's a decent coffee maker but slightly overpriced unless it lasts a very long time.
I think for what it is/does it's a bit overpriced (BUT what isn't these days?) It taught me a few things: 1) I prefer a cone filter to basket. 2) No way does this brew a full pot of decent strength coffee, it would never hold enough coffee grounds. 3) It is impossible to grab a cup before it's done brewing without drips on the hotplate; I hate that. 4) It looks cheap with the shiny black plastic and its appearance could be improved by simply making it matte. 5) I don't care for a coffee brewer that makes it so difficult to add a little more water as it is brewing. All of those things said, it's relatively quick. The coffee tastes fine if you use good quality coffee. When I buy another, I'll buy one that brews into a thermos style pot so there is no hot plate, and select one that I can add water to as it is brewing.

Works great and excellent value
This is a great little coffee maker. Having a timer for an automatic brew to wake up to fresh coffee is great and having the 2-hour shut off prevents leaving a decanter burning. I’ve owned much more expensive coffee makers with more bells and whistles and none made better coffee than this one does.

Black and Decker coffee maker
I'm here to say great things about this purchase. First, shipping was fast and product was wrapped and boxed very well. There was a zip tie on the plug which let me know it was brand new and not a return from previous purchase.I like the fact the water level window is on the right side due to where I place it on my bar it's easy to see. Brews 12 cups in 8 min. Removal of pot slides out with ease and pouring from decanter it does not spill out everywhere. Time and auto set are simple to use and it makes a HOT pot of coffee!!Great price and I'm very pleased with this coffee maker.

A Good Basic Coffee Maker
My last coffee maker finally gave up the ghost and I started looking for a decent coffee maker that wouldn't break the bank. This is what I bought, based on the price and the reviews. It's a good coffee maker. That's all I really need to know. It does its job without fuss. It's programmable, so it has more features than coffee makers that are only a little cheaper. And it will make 12 cups of coffee, which is a plus if you ever have visitors who like coffee or if you drink a lot yourself. It does its job, and it does it well.I have one quibble about this coffee maker, it's the built in 2 hour shut-off, which you apparently don't have any control over (Black & Decker says it's a safety feature). I's annoying. On my weekends I tend to start coffee when I get up, but I sometimes get busy and don't get to it right away. I couldn't tell you how many times I've gone in there to get a cup of coffee only to find out that the warming plate has turned off. Now, it's simple enough just to turn it back on, and I usually get in there before the coffee has gotten too cold. But the simple truth is I would rather be able to make a full pot of coffee that could sit in there for 8 - 10 hours than something I have to babysit, or have to make a couple of cups of coffee at a time. The shut-off "safety feature" is mostly annoying because I have no control over it. I understand Black & Decker probably thought of it as a liability issue (because people love to sue corporations when they themselves have done something stupid), but it does seem like there should be a larger window in which to keep your coffee warm, or least make it something that's variable up to a point. Sure, it makes sense to have the coffee maker shut off at some point, because people can and do forget to turn them off. But whoever set it at 2 hours is clearly someone who doesn't actually drink coffee. lol.Overall, though, I'm very happy with this coffee maker. I'm sure I'll buy another one when this one gives out.

Best value for your money.
Reliable and easy to use.makes pretty dang good coffee. Fits perfectly under my lowcabinets. We have hard well water that destroys coffee pots after 6 months and no amount of cleaning and descaling will get them working again. This model is cheap enough that I can replace it twice a year and not feel too guilty.

Good coffee maker, bad clock.
Brews quick and fairly easy to clean. Feels durable and the size is nice. It is surprisingly light. Only reason for four stars is the clock, they recommend unplugging when not in use. I think this is solely because how poorly the clock keeps time. After a little over a week the clock is a solid hour off.
