The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism by Klein, Naomi (2008) Paperback

A great book as far as describing the process of privatization and how the reality was that it was more about crony capitalism than anything else. The one weakness: Klein seems to be saying that all we need to do is return to the days of Keynesianism. She leaves out the fact that in its last years (under Jimmy Carter), inflation was starting to get out of control.

Naomi Klein finely honed dissection of how free-market capitalism has turned into "disaster" capitalism the world over is the thinking persons guide to what's wrong with capitalism today. She makes an unassailable case for the need for an economic revolution.

Brilliant critique of the current version of capitalism.
