It works with the matching antenna
I couldn't believe this little toy works. The antenna is very small but that doesn't seem to affect performance. I installed the matching Chaowei High Gain TV Antenna Amplifier with the matching antenna and scanned the channels. I got 55 channels and I live 50 miles away from the transmitter towers. Being digital all the channels were clear except for one weak one that had pixels. The antenna is very sensitive to location. Moving it just a foot makes a dramatic difference. I'd say it was a success.

Bad Design and Non-functional.
The device turns on and everything but the portion that goes into the TV is too small. The USB turns on but it doesn't have enough power to amplify the signal. If you keep plugging and unplugging the USB it'll give it a surge and it will momentarily get more channels. This leads me to believe that the USB power source it requires has to be an augmented USB and not a regular one. you cannot plug it into the TV as advertised and you cannot plug it into just any USB plug. I would have to guess that it needs at least 10 amps to 30 amps of power to work properly, nowhere near the one amp plug that the TV provides. The part is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. The whole thing can fit in the palm of your hand. The cable length is way too long on both ends which probably interferes with signal strength. Before plugging it in I had 120 channels after plugging it in I got 9 channels. After uninstalling it and putting my regular cable back in I got my channels back. While it's scanning for channels with the amplifier and it struggles. I do not recommend and I suggest that the manufacturer perform more research on their product before selling it. I think I wasted about $20 worth of gas getting this to my parents house to try to help them with their TV.

Excellent quality product - that works
I had purchased their antennas in the past for a 7 inch tv and then we cut the cord and got rid of cable and all of new TVs have roku. I bought their antennas and they worked pretty good and I didn't have to have an antenna outside. We live in a wooded area and channels would flicker for the channels that were further out. I bought these amplifiers and hooked up and the channels cleared up and I was able to get other channels. Using their antenna and amplifiers the picture quality is excellent and when coupled with roku, the over the air channels are filed into the program grid. So, when we cut the TVs on, it looks like we have cable because the over the air channels also have program information. I didn't white, but if you don't mind white, they sell the antenna and the amplifier as a set. Again, it was a good buy at a good price.

Great for amplifying an antenna signal AFTER installing a bandpass filter.
My television picture is much less prone to jaggies and breakup after installing this amplifier. Unlike the amplifiers built into the wiring of some antennas, you can install a bandpass filter (to filter out cellphone signal noise) between this amplifier and the antenna so that you're amplifying the antenna signal, but not the noise. Works well and uses the USB port found on most modern TVs for power, so that it turns on and off with the TV set. Well worth the <US$10 that I paid for it.

Didn't work for me.
This product did not work on 2 of the 3 televisions in my home. One television is sitting right in front of a window. I returned this product.
