Excellent value and size
I'm incredibly satisfied with this cat tree, and so is my cat. Not every cat is interested in cat trees right away, but mine loves to climb up high. I introduced him to it after I put it together, and he loves it. I've purchased cat trees in the past that looked big online but ended up being super small (even too small for an adult cat) in person and only substantial in the height department. This cat tree is compact but still generously sized. My family has two very large, fat cats (weighing about 15 lbs.), and they could easily use this cat tree. My cat is of a reasonable size, not tiny but not fat, and this is perfect for him. He took to the bowl-shaped hammock right away. I have mine sitting on carpet, and it rocks just a tad, but I think it would be more stable on a hard floor. The whole thing put together is a little wobbly but not to a degree that it's an issue. Putting this together was easy. It took me about an hour. Some things to note: make sure you put it together in the room where you want it or carry it into that room before completely putting the top parts on, otherwise it could be too tall to fit through the door. With the ceiling stabilizer addition, I don't think it's in much danger of falling over unless you run full speed at it and tackle it or intentionally shove it over. A very large, heavy dog could potentially shove it at least partially over, but for most cases, it should be relatively stable. The only thing is that the instructions don't tell you is how to put the ceiling stabilizer together. To help anyone that might have an issue, here's how to put it together:The instructions will say to screw either part 13 or part 14 to the top. Whichever you use depends on how high your ceiling is. You can sit the 13 or 14 piece on top and then hold the 15 piece with the spring-loaded mechanism inside over the 13 or 14 piece to see which works best. After you attach either the 13 or 14 piece, the instructions will tell you to screw a dowel screw B into the top of the 13 or 14 piece. Once you've done this, you can attach the 15 piece. First, you need to make sure you have the 15 piece and the spring mechanism put together. One side of the 15 piece has a large hole. Included in the package are two PVC pipes and one small PVC connector, in case one pipe isn't long enough for your ceiling. Also included are a rubbery disc to attach to the end of one of the pipes and a long, black spring. To put the mechanism together, drop the spring into the hole of the 15 piece. Connect the disc to the end of one of the pipes. If you need both pipes, connect them with the small PVC connecter. A faux fur, elastic slip is included to put over the ceiling secure mechanism. If you want to use it, put the pipe down one elastic hole of the slip and pull the sides of the hole up around the disc on the end of the pipe. You can bunch the rest of the slip up around the underside of the disc until you get the mechanism stabilized against your ceiling. Now is the tricky part. You need to push the pipe with the disc on the end down, against the spring, until you can get the other end of the 15 piece onto the dowel screw in the top of the 13 or 14 piece. Once you've got it on the screw, you can let the disc extend against your ceiling and screw the 15 piece on all the way, holding it stable as you do. The screw and the pipe and spring should hold the 15 piece in place so you can screw it on tightly without having to hold the pipe down against the spring anymore. Finally, once you've tightened the 15 piece, you can pull the other end of the slip down over the 15 piece, and your cat tree will officially be finished and secured against the ceiling!

Great value for smaller cats
I bought the Deluxe Playground.I have two cats, 7 and 9 pounds. This is pretty close to perfect for their size and the size of the space I had for such a tree.Pros:Size and shape of the base. Because this has a rectangular base, it fits against a wall much better than squared-off bases.Ease of assembly. Directions are pretty worthless, but it is so obvious and well-labeled that I had it together in about 20 minutes.Stability. My two admittedly small guys jump all over this thing and it never moves. That said, it only weighs about 35 pounds, so the physics will tell you a 20 pound cat will make it move a bit.Height: I didn't want a giant tower. I wanted something that would get them off the window sill but tall enough that they could look out the window. The top shelf is about two inches taller than the sill, and the top circle is a good foot and a half, so they much prefer it to the window sill - mission accomplished.Layout. For how small it is, there is a lot of "variety" to this product. I am amazed how many different paths and games the cats have created for themselves on this.Cons:I'd like the carpet to be a bit thicker. The "hidey hole" is just too small to be really useful. However, we have found an excellent use for it. I throw toys in there and the cats love tossing them out and crawling in to get the last one.The activity box. I removed it after a couple of days because it's in a really bad spot. They enjoy being able to dive through the rope hole now.Overall, this has been really great so far. Actually better than I expected for the price. Larger cats can certainly use it, but this is probably better for smaller guys. The very top circle is for sure small, but both of my guys can lay in it and do. If I run into issues, I'll update but, two weeks in, I'm very pleased.6 month update: it has been a lot of fun for the cats, but is showing the wear and tear now. It has a design flaw as well in that the left side is basically held by two cardboard tubes while right side is held by 5 stronger tubes. I fixed this by adding some thin wood on the left side. As I expected, the carpet is wearing out and I had to duct tape a few spots. All things considered though, still a great value considering they practically live on this thing. There are different designs, so I'd say when you get yours, look for the potential weak spot and just reinforce it right off the bat. I attached an image with my added support and it has been rock-solid since then.

This is good for small cats
Buy these for 10 lb maximum cats. I have two 20 lbs cats that have been doing a number on this tree. I had to reinforce it. If it was only my 10 lbs female cat though I am sure it would be fine. It is a little bit hard to put it together, specially mounting it onto a ceiling. It is better done in an area full of room for it. (the tree is held by 'spring action' and it is a hella tough spring - it is definitely a two person job)

Ours was great for small cats
We had it for 9 months ...by the time the kittens were cats it was falling apart completely. Also be prepared for extra vacuuming - the stand sheds carpet fluff regularly. The larger cat of 10lbs can now tip it simply by jumping off of the higher shelf. That caused the wooden box game with the balls in it to snap off. The Kittens lost those balls in the first 3 weeks -they figured out how to get them out of the box, so it became pretty useless early on, anyway. We bought this hoping to gift it to a needier family when we were done with it, but it was too far gone.
