20 Ways to Draw a Tree and 44 Other Nifty Things from Nature: A Sketchbook for Artists, Designers, and Doodlers

I purchased this book based on the reviews. My first impression on opening the book was slight disappointment. The book consists of a page of simple drawings on a single topic e.g. trees, with a blank page opposite for 20 of your own efforts. An adult colouring book? No.After my initial response I sat down and began to doodle and draw the suggested 20 items. Once started I found it hard to stop and as the pages turned I found that my drawing confidence was increasing. Some topics were harder and or more appealing than others - 20 snails is a big ask. Lol.This is a book designed to nudge you gently to draw or doodle. Most of us struggle to get started stating that we either can't draw or don't know what to draw. This book is a lovely place to start. Use pencil and an eraser to start. Then use ink pens and colour.Finally, I realised that part of my issue with drawing in this book was the childhood mantra of respecting printed books and under no circumstances adding my own creative daubs. If this is you, it's okay to draw on these pages.....really!

Drawings for my art class - can be very simple or more complex. Gives me great inspiration to create.

I have now bought the full set of these books. The quality of the book is amazing. I adore the binding because it allows the book to lie flat. More art books need to use this type of binding. Each book spurs my creativity. The images are simple and serve as a great starting point. I adore these books!

Nice book that has just line drawings...so simple. Great to look at, calming, thought inducing, inspiring. Shows examples of different nature items drawn several ways and has blank pages to try your hand at drawing some too.Shows the items just by themselves floating in the spaces on the pages...not in any whole pictures. I really like that as it stimulates the imagination more.Great idea as a book series and contains many wonderful ideas for all artists, embroiderers , painters etc. I think this would be good for children, teens, and adults alike.

Regt zum zeichnen an, allerdings sind manche Motive etwas fantasielos, so wirken zum Beispiel viele der Wolken wie Zentangle. Und manche Sachen wiederholen sich und sind nur aus einer anderen Perspektive gezeichnet.Aber ich kann nun einen super Fliegenpilz zeichnen und darauf kommts an ;-)
