SOUTH PARK: COMPLETE NINETEENTH SEASON - DVD - This stunning and brave 19th season of South Park follows a serialized model for the first time in the show's history. The season is built around an extended satire of political correctness beginning when a new socially conscious principal comes to town. In other episodes, Mr. Garrison makes a bid for the White House, Randy takes the lead in gentrifying the town, and everyone is looking for their safe space. Review: One of the series' highest points (and that's saying something) - The episodes: 5/5. I think season 19 is a perfect season, right up there with 8, 11, and 14 for me as far as best seasons go. The continuous plot (more-so even than season 18) is fresh and makes for some great moments. The features: 4/5. This is both better and worse than usually. The "Social Commentary" feature is awesome. It is like the Seinfeld trivia feature or Pop-up Brady from Nick at Night. It just shows trivia at the bottom of the screen throughout the episodes. The E3 thing for The Fractured But Whole is also really cool. The most unfortunate thing, though, is that we have finally seen the end for my beloved commentary minis. Instead, we get a "season commentary" by Matt and Trey where, in 25 minutes or so, they go through the whole season. It is great, but I've always loved throwing the minis on and re-watching the seasons that way. RIP. The packaging: 3/5. I understand no one really cares about this aspect, but they have done red too many times at this point. Sure, there are only so many colors and the first dozen or so knocked most of them out, but I feel like this is the 6th or 7th red one and that drives me nuts. Hopefully you don't care. Audio/video: 5/5. Looks and sounds great for me. I'm not an expert though, so if this is a really important thing to you (like you're a home theater person), then I'd check a dedicated blu-ray review site for a proper take on the AV quality. Review: Here Comes PC Principal! - I loved this season of South Park. I had to have a physical media copy. Blu-Ray? Yes, Please.

Great price on these DVD's. I have loved this show from the start. "I've got to buy them all." Good quality, low price, what else is there to say. If you love South Park and want it sitting on your shelf, it's a great deal.

I read somewhere that this was the best season in a long time
I have been eighths South Park fan since beginning. I own all of the seasons so this purchase was inevitable. However, I read somewhere that this was the best season in a long time. I don't exactly agree with that statement. This season and last season and there have been less episodes I believe this time there was two desks and last season I think only three. South Park is classic in itself however in my opinion the first nine seasons are about as good as you can get. The new season of course takes on any of the newer political/media issues as in the past. It is still good I just do not believe that it is worth five stars.

Genius!!
This is THE best season of South Park. With a few episode exceptions, I had such a good time watching this season. It was witty, well crafted, and hilarious! It's pure comic GOLD! I couldn't wait to get the DVD. Now I can watch it over and over, anytime I want, and share it with friends who have not seen it yet. Matt and Trey really outdid themselves on this season. LOVE IT! Whenever I get a pop up ad, I always say out loud, dammit Leslie!

After a few years of South Park stagnating with their old format, they break through with a funny and unique season that essentially follows through on one overarching story thread. The boys find themselves living in a state of constant change as a new PC Principal shows up and robs Cartman and Kyle of their usual roles in South Park. Mr. Garrison takes on the role of Trump and Canadians are the new Mexicans. Caitlin/Bruce Jenner also has a role in the Garrison storyline. Meanwhile Southpark undergoes gentrification to the detriment of Kenny and City Wok. The dvd has a commentary section which is also new. The old commentary featured a couple minutes of talking about each show. This time it's a 20 minute single commentary on the season where the writers compare and contrast their old way of creating episodes. A very good 2 dvd set in spite of the short 10 episode seasons.

Now with several seasons, movies and video games in play, it is amazing they still have something new to bring out. Good late night fodder with chuckles and school yard banter. Sorry Kenny, you are still dead by the end of an episode.

Was in a DVD case so I had to return this product, there was nothing wrong with it but wasn't advertised in a DVD case, instead of a season case.
