Update 4/2018: Everything still working great! Pictures added showing how the hose is hooked up (you'll need a female to female hose for the intake), and a general idea of what kind of pressure you get drawing from a 55-gallon barrel.Original Review: I use it hooked up to an extra car battery, to transfer water from portable 55-gallon drums to a large water cistern. It works very well for this purpose. It is fairly noisy, producing a whine similar to any high rpm motor. I've also used it to pull water from the cistern to water trees with a garden hose. It doesn't produce enough pressure to run an oscillating sprinkler, but it will let you use the stream, jet, soaker, or similar functions on a hose sprayer pretty well. I've run it for about 3 hours off a large car battery without needing to charge the battery. My only gripe is with the wires/clamps that it comes with. The wires seem very small gauge for the draw this thing has (10 amps at 12 volts) and the clamps are very thin and bend very easily. That being said, it has worked fine for weeks now, and I haven't broken it yet, so 5/5 stars!

I purchased this unit since I am remodeling a home and don’t have access to a constant standard AC supply. The pump is used to move water in areas where it has collected and it should be there. I didn’t think I would need to use the suction strainer but it has come in quite handy since some of the standing water can gather debris that shouldn't go through the pump.For the price this pump has some fantastic features. It can easily attach to a car battery so I can used it almost anywhere. It moves a ton of water and the stated GPH seems about right which is nice for something so portable. Also, the pump does come with some nice accessories like a small inlet hose and suction strainer so there is no additional hose to buy those items if needed. Another important feature is that the pump is self priming which is very handy when you are in a rush to move some water away from a spot that it shouldn’t be. All in all a very useful product.

This water pump works good. It does however build up quite a bit of heat at the end of 55 gallons. More than that and you’ll want to let it cool down periodically.

Pump worked great for the money. The only complaint is that the hose was very stiff

We use this pump (powered by a small lawnmower battery) to fill our freshwater tank. It is a strong running pump and empties our 6-gallon water jugs in a little over a minute. We used to have to siphon the jugs until we got this pump. It meets all of expectations. Well made and of good quality.
