Overall: Excellent quality and craftsmanship, beautiful dress, fits most doll bodiesDetails: The dress is designed so it fits a variety of doll body types. The tulle is attached to the bodice in sections, there is Velcro at back of the bodice and the entire dress opens flat. Excellent craftsmanship, no issues there at all. Doll hair doesn't get caught in the Velcro, just slides right out. Dress is shown on a Fresh Doll Okoye body (with red braids Barbie head) and a tall Barbie body. Also fits curvy Barbie. It's a lot of dress, so I didn't try on a petite body. My pictures do not do this dress justice, it is beautiful! (And more purple than pink)This dress is perfect for a teenage or adult doll collector, and worth every penny of the $15 I paid. I can't wait to buy more Cora Gu dresses.

Cora Gu never disappoints and this gown is no exception! She uses an ingenious wrap around design so this dress will fit any doll without having to force it over their hips. The velcro closure allows some flexibility to fit dolls with different chests and torsos while still giving a perfect fit! The only doll this might be snug on are the curvy girls.The tule is stitched from the top in layered strips that are so thick, the dress is always puffy, with full coverage and never flat. I have yet to find anyone whose dresses come even close to hers (including brand toy names) and make sure to snap up any new gowns as soon as they come out!

This dress is absolutely gorgeous! The colors are vibrant and the sewing is excellent. The top portion is lined and that definitely makes for a superior garment. The dress is very easy to get on and off with a genius back closure design. The long skirt is supremely full and looks very lux. This is a spectacular high quality gown that is a must in any Barbie collectors clothes closet. I've paid much more for dresses that weren't even close to as well constructed and perfectly tailored as this gown is. I'm ordering several more Cora Gu garments. This is a FABULOUS dress!

Stunning dress. Not the least expensive in my holiday lineup, but worth every penny.

My first, detailed and unreserved review for this dress was rejected for being “obscene”?! That was surprising seeing as I used no swears because this is an accessory for a child’s toy and I’m not an animal. I suppose that’s a blessing but my revised, second review was just as vitriolic and worse- it was accepted and published; I regretted it semi-immediately. This is partly due to my fairly firm belief that people who leave vitriolic, negative reviews are divas with unrealistic expectations and my even greater distaste for hypocrisy (and my deathly allergy to BEING a hypocrite) so after lifesaving treatment for that hipocrisy I’m revising my review (again) to be more in line with my revised feelings about this doll-dress. The dress is made really beautifully and with a really nice colour palette. I was initially put off by the construction of the skirt and I guess I’m still not super thrilled with it, and it is a bit long for most of my dolls, hence four stars. However- seeing as I am well above the standard “playing with Barbies age” and my Barbie “play” chiefly consists of changing their clothes and propping them up to look at them (Ok. So maybe I make them watch TV with me and I talk to them a little too- so what, SHUT UP! You still colour in colouring books!!) that objection fell away pretty rapidly because it was well suited to my uses. I cheifly own vintage reproduction Barbie Dolls- recreations of Barbies from the early 60’s, produced in the 90’s and aughts (when I was much younger- but admittedly still too old to play with Barbies) to commeorate her Anniversary? Birthday? Anyway, The dolls themselves are easy and rather cheap to find on eBay. Clothes are another matter entirely. The standard modern Barbie clothes would look ridiculous against their refined and elegant faces and figures and probably wouldn’t fit anyway due to being cut for the thicker waisted, flatter chested modern dolls. The vintage reproduction clothes produced around the same time (often these are the clothes that came on various dolls removed and resold to collectors separately from the now starkers doll) run roughly between thirty and eighty dollars *per outfit* on eBay and don’t even get me started on the original versions! So I have a few old fashioned girls with nothing to wear except the evening dresses they’d been in for twenty-odd years. This dress not only fits them quite well, it doesn’t look too modern as to look out of place on a vintage-style doll. In the interest of leaving a thorough review, I put it on my “Tall” fashionista doll (which involved de boxing and undressing her- you’re Welcome!) and it fits her pretty well too. It’s a tiny bit big at the shoulders and her more modestly proportioned bust and narrower rib cage don’t strain at the bodice like the older style Barbies so it does kind of flatten out her bust. It otherwise fits her torso very well in terms of bodice length and the way it hugs nicely. I’d almost say that it flatters the taller doll’s torso much nicer but it flatters the older style doll’s bust better. It’s also the perfect length for this taller doll. I think it’s great that this dress looks good on very new and very old style Barbies! On the old dolls, it looks like a beautiful fantasy gown- you know, like Barbie wears. On the new doll, it looks like she’s walking the red carpet in a beautiful, modern couture gown. To make something that looks good on two different styles and sizes of doll is no easy feat! I feel confident that it would swallow the petite doll and would advise caution buying it for the “Curvy” body style. I could see it fitting through the shoulders and bust but straining at and possibly not closing over the waist and/or the skirt separating over the hips. I could also see it just fitting but being a bit too long as the curvy dolls are a half inch shorter than the standard Barbie. I could also see it not fitting at all. A lot of hand-work goes into making these little gowns. Cora is a real lady who is very nice and wants people to be satisfied with their purchase. She offered to take the dress back but I found that it had really grown on me. I think that it’s worth mentioning that there is a healthy cottage trade in clothes both for modern and vintage dolls on Etsy and eBay but they tend to be much more expensive than these dresses. Even a pair of leggings can be about as much as this gown. I think I just may be buying another dress or two in future.
