Beautiful presentation of architecture, history, and life in Siberia.
Very nice photography and a light read. Perfect for an evening in the tundra.

Good book
I am very satisfied. It's a good book. It takes me to another place and gives me an insight to what it's like in siberia. I would recommend it to a friend.

Gorgeous; could be larger
First of all, this is a gorgeous book with breathtaking photographs. I’m obsessed with Soviet and brutalist architecture, and this collection of photos is a dream come true. The downside? I would happily pay more to be able to order this as a coffee table book.It wasn’t as small as I feared, and it’s large enough to allow the reader to appreciate the photos, but in a larger size, it would be absolutely stunning.

very good and depressing testimony
A most informative book, with very good photographs. An honest and no-frills look at the bleak, decaying and often environmentally catastrophic reality of these mushroom towns which the soviet government sprang according to its economic, social and strategic imperatives. The photos are excellent and manage to clench the "lost world" atmosphere one feels when one visits these towns, which were haphazardly built and never maintained, and where the harshness of the elements, combined with the poor quality of soviet constructions, make for an even more depressing and unforgiving life than the isolation of these faraway places already carried intrinsically.A must for anyone interested in Soviet society and architecture.
