Karcher SC 2 Upright EasyFix Steam Mop, heating time: 30 sec, area performance: 50 m², tank: 0.4 l, power: 1600 W, floor nozzle, microfibre cloth and descaling cartridge

This is a Superb steam mop! The Karcher SC 2 Upright EasyFix Steam Mop! I cannot praise it enough! It cleanse the floor (stone or laminate) exceptionally well!. Note: you do have to frequently change the mop head when cleaning the floor otherwise you will end up pushing dirty water around the floor. The mop is the perfect weight, not too heavy and not too light, which makes it more effective at cleaning. It is easy to push across the floor. It kills the bacteria and cleans far more effectively than any other hand powered mop. I have used it nearly every day since purchasing it and it performs 100% every time. I do not use the cartridge, I use distilled water as it lasts longer and can mop a floor 20 x 15 foot without needing to be refilled. I use an extension cord with it as the power cord is not long enough. I use the KEEPOW microfibre cloth pads which are much better than the Karcher ones. I have used this steam mop on stone and one-piece laminate floors only. I would not use it on wooden floors or laminate coated floor boards / tiles. If used on a wooden floor, it makes scratched and pits in the wood darker in colour. On laminate floor tiles it would eventually lift the flooring. I believe this mop is superior to there newer model based on the reviews I have read. The new model (SC3 EasyFix Steam Mop) is heaver and this would make it harder to push around. This mop is effective at cleaning a floor, has the perfect weight, is moveable, easy to fill with distilled watch, quick to heat up, easy to use and better at floor cleaning than any other karcher model (karcher SC4 steam cleaner) in which I have used many in my job.

I have a dog and despite wiping his feet when he comes in from outside there’s always dirt on the floor and we were sick of getting the mop out each time. This allows us to quickly wipe up after the dog and it dries quickly. It leaves the floor clean and is easy to use. As mentioned by others, the lead is slightly short. When I use my vacuum cleaner I can plug it in the hallway and it stretches for the whole house whereas this one I have to unplug and use 6 different plugs if I was to do all hard floors in the house

Not a bad cleaner but has proved to be very poor at cleaning my duramat garage floor. Pads are dear and don’t last very well as Velcro does not grab after a couple of washes and the power cord is far too short for a room of any reasonable size. I still use it but it’s not a great performer for me would not buy again as I expect much better from Karcher

Still have the "cylinder" style SC3 when I bought this upright SC2. Keeping both for they have different advantages. The SC3 is light weight to use because most of the weight is sitting at the cylinder which is sitting on the floor. This upright is quick to put into action because it is already assembled whereas the SC3 had to be taken out of the box and things clipped together even before you fill it with water. So the SC2 is quick to get the weekly mop done but quick to tire you out as you have to push more weight around. This SC2 is good for floors but not much else where as the SC3 has attachments for cleanign walls and ovens etc. I have even bought the floor accessory which clips any old cloth into place although I do like the velcro attached EasyFix system. This is mainly because the EasyFix tool is thinner and can get under cupboards with less obstructions. With SC3 the combined cable and steam pressure hose means I don't need extension cable during the mopping process but the SC2 it is necessary in order to reach everywhere. (This cable is 4.7m long but has no steam pressure hose to reach another metre.) I predict the SC3 will fail earlier than the SC2 because the steam pressure hose doesn't come with piece of rubber cable gland protector; i.e. where the cable goes into the mop handle. As you push and pull the mop the hose flexes and chafs against the hard plastic recess of the handle, so this is where I predict it will fail first. Very annoying because almost all consumer electrical product, such as irons where the cable flexes a lot, would come with such a gland protector.
